Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead a team of 3–5 embedded product managers (Catalysts) who work directly with priority products, product groups, and enterprise initiatives to accelerate adoption of Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model (DPOM).
- • Serve as a hands-on product leader who performs product management responsibilities while embedded with cross-functional teams, including clarifying user and business problems, shaping product strategy, defining OKRs and KPIs, and improving roadmaps.
- • Coach Catalyst team members in real-time product work across discovery, prioritization, value measurement, stakeholder alignment, and outcome-driven delivery to build product craft and capability.
- • Design and operationalize the Catalyst engagement model by defining how teams are selected, engagements are scoped, success is measured, and learnings are scaled across the organization.
- • Partner with business functions, digital product leadership, and technology leaders to align product work with enterprise priorities and shift from output-based delivery to outcome-oriented product management.
- • Create lighthouse examples of high-performing product teams that demonstrate strong outcome orientation, discovery practices, and DPOM adoption to serve as models for broader organizational change.
- • Accelerate DPOM adoption by identifying recurring capability gaps, anti-patterns, and adoption barriers, then partnering with Product Management Hub leadership to address them through practical interventions.
- • Contribute insights from embedded engagements to refine DPOM playbooks, training materials, tools, standards, and operating rhythms based on real-world application and feedback.
- • Define and track measurable success metrics for Catalyst engagements, including product outcomes, adoption rates, team maturity, and capability growth, using both quantitative data and qualitative feedback.
- • Surface risks, recommendations, and insights to Product Management Hub leadership to inform enterprise-wide product strategy and capability development.
- • Build a team culture grounded in product excellence, coaching rigor, measurable impact, and enterprise-wide influence, while balancing consistency of DPOM standards with context-sensitive implementation.
- • Operate as a player-coach: actively engage in hands-on product work while simultaneously developing the skills of others and scaling best practices across the organization.
- • Influence senior stakeholders to adopt empowered, outcome-driven product teams over project-based, stakeholder-request-driven delivery models.
- • Represent the Product Management Hub in discussions on product maturity, capability development, and value realization across business, technology, and operational domains.
- • Help establish product management as a durable, recognized leadership discipline across Amgen, with sustainable practices embedded into daily workflows and decision-making.
- • Support teams in moving from feature/output roadmaps to outcome-oriented product strategies with clear success measures and value realization plans.
- • Upskill product managers, product owners, business partners, and technology leads through practical, on-the-job coaching during embedded engagements.

- • 5+ years of progressive experience in digital product management including product strategy, discovery, roadmapping, prioritization, delivery, and outcome measurement
- • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, or developing product managers and improving team product management craft
- • Proven ability to move teams from output-oriented delivery to outcome-oriented product management
- • Strong experience embedding with teams or leading transformation through hands-on product execution and practical capability building
