Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Heidi’s integrations platform, including the integration framework, customer-facing Integration Marketplace, and all EMR/non-EMR connectors (Epic, Cerner, Athena, MEDITECH Expanse, Veradigm, Best Practice)
- • Drive the migration of existing and new integrations to a unified, shared infrastructure featuring sectional notes write-back, standardized error handling, analytics instrumentation, and multi-tenancy
- • Decide which integrations to build, deepen, or deprecate by balancing customer demand, regional priorities, and engineering cost while avoiding one-off configurations that fragment the platform
- • Serve as the central integration layer for all Heidi products (Scribe, Comms, Evidence), ensuring any external system connection flows through the integrations platform
- • Own the unified Integration Marketplace experience across Scribe, Comms, and Evidence — including discoverability, multi-user setup flows, and closed-loop handling of integration requests from growth and commercial teams
- • Translate real-world EMR behaviors — such as HL7 ADT message structures, FHIR resource mapping, Cerner addendum workflows, MEDITECH approval pathways, and Athena shell account quirks — into precise, actionable product specifications
- • Set and enforce standards for integration quality and reliability, including write-back confirmations, latency thresholds, and recovery from upstream system failures
- • Act as the bridge between US, UK, and APAC regional teams, absorbing conflicting priorities and translating them into a coherent, scalable platform roadmap rather than a backlog of custom fixes
- • Work directly with EHR vendors, integration engines, and platform teams to anticipate and respond to API changes, certification updates, and compliance requirements
- • Identify patterns across customer issues — when the same gap appears in three accounts or regions — and convert them into platform-wide fixes instead of bespoke workarounds
- • Expand the integration surface beyond EMRs to include document stores (SharePoint, Google Drive, OneDrive), clinical/drug references, scheduling systems, and secure messaging platforms
- • Diagnose integration failures by reading logs and distinguishing between model errors, framework bugs, and customer-specific configuration issues
- • Make daily build-vs-configure trade-offs: determine when a customer request requires a scalable platform change versus a temporary, isolated solution
- • Ship and own the end-to-end delivery of integrations, from requirement gathering through deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement
- • Collaborate directly with clinicians during live EMR usage sessions (e.g., observing Cerner mapping or MEDITECH ambient flows) to extract actionable product insights
- • Communicate integration requirements to engineering and commercial teams with clarity, ensuring contracts and technical implementations align
- • Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate prototyping, documentation, and code analysis — and demonstrate tangible outputs created with them
- • Translate core LLM concepts (prompting, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation) into reliable, user-facing integration features
- • Say ‘no’ to isolated requests and turn them into platform capabilities that unlock multiple deals across regions
🎯 Requirements
- • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field
- • 4+ years in product, integrations, or technical roles with demonstrated shipping of platform or framework products
- • Real fluency with healthcare interoperability standards: SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2 (ADT, ORM, ORU), FHIR resources, OAuth flows for clinical apps
- • Experience making build-vs-configure trade-offs and shipping scalable platform solutions that serve multiple customers
- • Diagnostic fluency: ability to read integration logs and distinguish framework issues from configuration errors
- • Proven ability to manage competing regional priorities and build a coherent roadmap under pressure
🏖️ Benefits
- • Flexible hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office
- • $500 annual personal development budget
- • Equity (shares) in the company
- • Opportunity to work alongside top engineers and creatives in a diverse team
- • Chance to create global impact within one of Australia’s leading healthtech startups
- • Fast-track career advancement potential for high-impact contributors
