  • • Amgen is seeking a Director, Digital Product Operations to play a pivotal role in establishing, scaling, and continuously improving the enterprise-wide Digital Product Operating Model (DPOM). This leadership position is crucial for Amgen's strategic shift from a project-centric approach to a product-centric one, ensuring that product management principles are translated into practical, repeatable systems that can be understood and adopted across the organization. The Director will be instrumental in creating and maintaining the DPOM playbook, defining product management standards, developing an enterprise tooling strategy, measuring adoption, and integrating product ways of working into core business, technology, finance, agile, and governance processes. This role is about building the operational infrastructure that empowers Amgen's product teams to deliver maximum value to patients.
  • • In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the DPOM strategy. This includes owning and evolving the DPOM playbook, which serves as a comprehensive guide for product teams. You will define how product practices, decision rights, lifecycle standards, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), roadmaps, portfolio planning, intake processes, documentation, and measurement are implemented in practice. A key part of your role will be embedding these practices into the enterprise's operating cadences, ensuring consistency and alignment. You will also lead the research, evaluation, and recommendation of digital tools that support the DPOM. This encompasses tools for roadmapping, OKRs, portfolio planning, intake management, product analytics, and documentation. You will be expected to evaluate various tool options, align stakeholders on the best solutions, present clear recommendations to senior leadership, and drive the enterprise-wide adoption of selected tools. Furthermore, you will establish and manage the enterprise measurement system for DPOM adoption, maturity, and effectiveness. This involves defining key metrics, maturity indicators, and reporting mechanisms to track the adoption of product ways of working across different product groups and business functions. You will analyze adoption patterns, identify risks and capability gaps, and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement of DPOM standards, playbooks, tooling, training, and adoption strategies. Your responsibilities will also extend to partnering closely with various enabling teams, including Agile Enablement, Finance, Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and Change Management, to ensure DPOM is seamlessly integrated into enterprise-wide cadences. You will act as a connective leader, fostering collaboration and alignment across product, technology, business, finance, and governance stakeholders, influencing leaders to embrace outcome-driven, product-centric ways of working. You will also be responsible for leading through influence in a complex enterprise environment, adeptly balancing the need for consistent standards with the pragmatic adoption requirements of diverse business contexts.
  • • You will be joining the Product Management Hub, reporting to the Executive Director. This team is dedicated to fostering a culture of product excellence and driving Amgen's transformation towards a product-centric organization. The team is collaborative, innovative, and focused on enabling Amgen's mission to serve patients. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced product leaders and contribute to shaping the future of product management at Amgen. The company itself is a global biotechnology leader, dedicated to discovering, developing, manufacturing, and delivering innovative human therapeutics. With a focus on oncology, inflammation, general medicine, and rare diseases, Amgen is committed to making a significant impact on the lives of patients worldwide. Amgen's award-winning culture is built on a foundation of scientific rigor, collaboration, and a passion for tackling the world's toughest diseases.
  • • In this role, you will have the opportunity to become a thought leader in product operations and digital transformation, advocating for and driving Amgen's shift from projects to products. You will gain deep expertise in designing, scaling, and operationalizing product operating models within a large, complex, and regulated industry. You will develop strong skills in cross-functional leadership, influencing senior stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity to build new capabilities. As the role evolves, you will have the chance to lead and develop a small Product Operations team, honing your people management and team-building skills. This position offers a unique chance to shape the future of how Amgen develops and delivers digital products, directly contributing to the company's mission of serving patients and improving lives.
