- • The Director, Engineer (AI, Data & Security Tooling Ecosystem) serves as the technical authority for Allstate’s Agentic Cyber Operations & Platforms (ACO&P), defining and enforcing engineering standards for AI, security operations data, and security tooling ecosystems to ensure reliability, security-by-design, observability, and auditability at enterprise scale.
- • Day to day, the role involves defining reference architecture and technical standards for AI enablement services and the Security Operations Data Plane, establishing engineering excellence through CI/CD, test-driven development, and secure software practices, engineering guardrails for agentic AI workflows, ensuring data plane reliability and performance, managing tooling lifecycle via integration contracts and automation, maintaining incident readiness with runbooks and health signals, and coaching engineers while serving as an escalation point for complex design decisions.
- • The role sits within Agentic Cyber Operations & Platforms (ACO&P), a net-new Digital Product Team at Allstate designed to transform Cyber Operations in an AI-enabled threat landscape by embedding AI, a high-fidelity Security Operations Data Plane, and strategically managed security tooling as default operating capabilities, with a focus on maturity, shared platform patterns, data standards, and AI-first principles.
- • In this role, the individual will shape enterprise-scale AI and data capabilities, drive adoption of security-by-design and engineering excellence standards across platforms, reduce operational toil through automation and repeatable patterns, enable faster time-to-outcome for Cyber Operations teams, and establish themselves as a technical leader influencing senior stakeholders on complex, cross-product tradeoffs in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7–10 years of relevant new product or technology development experience in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated experience shipping software and managing complex integrations
- • Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, or related business degree; MBA/MIS/MS desired
- • Proven ability to lead cross-product technical strategy and influence senior stakeholders on complex design decisions
- • Strong hands-on experience establishing CI/CD practices and operating production systems with accountability to KPIs/outcomes
