📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for Taiwan-based customers, engaging directly with engineering teams and senior leadership to drive adoption of Axelera AI’s Metis™ AI Platform
• Lead hands-on hardware bring-up, board integration, and embedded system debugging for PCIe boards and compute modules in industrial automation, smart vision, automotive, and robotics applications
• Support chip-down design initiatives and custom carrier board development, ensuring seamless compatibility with Axelera’s AI hardware platforms
• Debug complex hardware-software integration issues including PCIe enumeration, power sequencing, signal integrity, thermal management, and BSP bring-up
• Guide customers through deployment of AI inference pipelines using the Voyager SDK, optimizing model performance on edge AI hardware
• Drive pre-sales technical engagements to secure design wins with OEMs, ODMs, system integrators, and end users across Taiwan
• Build and scale a regional Field Application Engineering (FAE) team in Taiwan, including recruiting, mentoring, and managing technical customer-facing engineers
• Establish FAE processes, documentation standards, and support infrastructure tailored to the Taiwan market and APAC customer needs
• Collaborate with global R&D and Product teams to relay critical customer feedback, usage patterns, and roadmap requirements from Taiwan’s ecosystem
• Partner with Sales and Business Development to support product introductions, competitive analysis, and customer onboarding strategies
• Maintain strong relationships with key distributors, channel partners, and technical decision-makers within Taiwan’s embedded systems and AI hardware ecosystem
• Represent Axelera AI at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events across Taiwan with up to 50% travel within the region
• Occasionally travel internationally to support APAC-wide initiatives, coordinate with global teams, or participate in product training and alignment sessions
• Act as a technical advocate for Axelera’s Metis™ AI Platform, ensuring customer success through end-to-end support from evaluation to production deployment
• Contribute to the development of APAC and global FAE strategy by aligning regional activities with commercial goals and product roadmaps
• Work remotely from Taiwan while integrating with a globally distributed team headquartered in the Netherlands, with strong collaboration across Belgium, France, Switzerland, and other international offices
• Leverage deep expertise in ARM-based SoCs, embedded Linux environments, and low-level system bring-up to solve complex technical challenges in edge AI deployments
• Drive customer satisfaction and long-term technical adoption by delivering consistent, high-quality support across all stages of the customer lifecycle

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field
• 10+ years of customer-facing FAE or applications engineering experience in semiconductor, AI, or embedded systems
• 5+ years leading FAE teams or managing technical customer-facing functions
• Strong experience with embedded board design, chip-down development, and custom carrier board design
• Experience with ARM-based SoCs, embedded compute modules, embedded Linux, bootloaders, BSPs, and low-level system bring-up
• Proven ability to debug complex hardware/software integration issues including PCIe, power sequencing, signal integrity, and thermal design
