- • The Director, FP&A and AI Finance plays a central role in Sur La Table’s success by delivering strategic financial insights and supporting sound investment decisions across the business.
- • This role leads the budget and forecast processes, drives key financial analysis and reporting, and manages a high-performing FP&A team.
- • The Director of FP&A reports directly to the division Chief Financial Officer.
- • Sur La Table operates over 59 stores and runs the largest avocational cooking program in the US, offering premium kitchen and table goods with culinary expertise to inspire customers.
- • The role contributes to the company’s mission of creating happiness through cooking and sharing good food by ensuring financial rigor and strategic alignment.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing financial planning, analyzing performance against forecasts, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- • The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support digital growth initiatives, operational efficiency, and long-term investment planning.
- • The individual will lead, mentor, and develop a team of FP&A analysts to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial deliverables.
- • This role offers the opportunity to shape financial strategy in a growing, mission-driven retail organization with a strong brand and national footprint.
- • The person in this role will gain exposure to executive-level decision-making and influence how financial data drives business outcomes across stores, e-commerce, and product lines.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading FP&A functions in a multi-unit retail or consumer-facing business.
- • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing finance teams.
- • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- • Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and visualization.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
