- • Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of Upvest’s Data & AI product function, transforming vast transactional, market, and client data into a strategic product asset for clients, internal teams, and regulators.
- • Define and own the AI product roadmap, identifying high-impact use cases such as LLM-powered internal tooling, intelligent features embedded in the Investment API, and real-time risk and compliance signals, ensuring operational robustness and commercial ROI in a regulated environment.
- • Partner closely with Product Director Mislav Ilich, SVP Engineering Roberto Fajardo, and CEO Martin Kassing to align data and AI initiatives with broader product and business goals across 20+ markets serving over 2 million users.
- • Build and scale a world-class Data & AI product team by attracting top talent, establishing clear operating models for discovery and delivery, and fostering a culture of ownership, high standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
- • Establish standards for data product development including data contracts, lakehouse architecture, MLOps, and modern data stack integrations (Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Dagster) to enable scalable, reliable data capabilities.
- • Translate technical AI and ML capabilities into productised solutions with measurable business outcomes, ensuring alignment between Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and senior leadership.
- • Drive outcome-focused product planning using OKRs, continuous discovery, and fast validation cycles to prioritize initiatives that deliver client value and competitive differentiation.
- • Act as the primary voice of Data & AI in product and engineering leadership, translating complex technical visions into clear, executable strategies that earn organizational trust and executive buy-in.
- • Create and maintain a product engineering culture where teams collaborate on joint OKRs, deliver in a decoupled and dynamic manner, and are empowered to own outcomes with autonomy and support.
- • Ensure all AI and data products comply with financial regulations while enabling innovation in investment and retirement planning infrastructure for fintechs and enterprises like Revolut, N26, and DKB.
- • Champion continuous learning by leveraging Upvest’s state-of-the-art tech stack and exposure to Europe’s leading fintechs to deepen expertise in financial data systems and AI applications.
- • Lead with Upvest’s core values: simplify the complex, own outcomes, rise to challenges, and tell the story — ensuring transparency, alignment, and inspiration across teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in product and data management with significant experience owning data, analytics, data science, or AI products in B2B environments
- • Proven track record in a regulated fintech, finance, or banking environment with deep understanding of API-first SaaS products
- • Experience translating AI/ML capabilities, including LLMs and ML systems, into productised value with measurable ROI
- • Fluency in modern data stacks (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Dagster, Lakehouse/Warehouse patterns, MLOps)
- • Demonstrated ability to define and own a data and AI product roadmap with clear business outcomes
- • Proven experience building and scaling inclusive, high-performing product or data teams
