📋 Description

  • • As the Director of Healthcare Strategy & Operations at Stepful Inc., you will lead the end-to-end delivery and scaling of nursing and respiratory programs, serving as a subject-matter expert to drive 10x growth in active student enrollment while ensuring regulatory compliance and exceptional student outcomes. This role is pivotal to Stepful’s mission of expanding access to high-demand healthcare careers for underserved learners, directly contributing to national workforce solutions through partnerships with major healthcare employers like CVS, NY-Presbyterian, and Walgreens.
  • • You will own program strategy, execution, and continuous improvement by developing and launching innovative initiatives to boost nursing enrollment, retention, and scalability; lead the integration of an acquired nursing college with a focus on expanding remote and online delivery models; oversee a team of Program Directors, instructors, and coordinators; and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Curriculum, Policy, Sales, and Customer Success teams to align program delivery with accreditation standards and client impact goals.
  • • You will join a mission-driven, fast-paced team backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, recently recognized as the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025, where values like ‘Care first,’ ‘Learn quickly,’ ‘Build together,’ and ‘Own it’ guide daily operations and decision-making in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in healthcare education operations, scale complex academic programs at a Series B-stage startup, influence cross-functional strategy, and directly impact student life outcomes by helping learners launch careers in nursing, respiratory care, and allied health—growing as a leader in both operational excellence and mission-driven innovation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of professional experience, including in an operational role at a high-growth startup
  • • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving
  • • Excellent communication skills, including clear and concise writing and presenting, with expertise in leading through influence across diverse stakeholders
  • • Passion for expanding access to education and helping students transform their lives through healthcare career training
  • • Willingness to do whatever it takes to execute at a high bar, learn quickly through experimentation, and take initiative in ownership-driven environments
