Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full strategic roadmap for Branch’s personal-lines portfolio (auto and homeowners) across a multi-state footprint, translating ambitious growth and profitability targets into clear, executable product plans that regulators, actuaries, and engineers can rally behind.
- • Drive end-to-end filing excellence: translate pricing, product, and underwriting strategies into SERFF-ready documentation, shepherd submissions through actuarial, compliance, and legal review, and compress cycle times so new rates and forms reach the market faster than industry norms.
- • Continuously monitor state-level performance dashboards—growth, loss ratio, retention, NPS, regulatory scorecards—and intervene with data-backed recommendations (rate changes, underwriting rule tweaks, product bundling shifts) to keep every state on a profitable, compliant trajectory.
- • Lead cross-functional “tiger teams” that unite underwriting, data science, engineering, design, and operations around high-impact initiatives such as instant-bind experiences, embedded-home telematics, or AI-driven risk segmentation; define scope, sequence work, remove blockers, and celebrate wins.
- • Build and mentor a high-caliber team of product managers and analysts: set crystal-clear roles, craft individual development plans, institute weekly operating rhythms, and create a culture where strategic thinking and disciplined execution coexist.
- • Serve as the company’s go-to authority on assigned lines and markets: distill regulatory bulletins, competitive filings, catastrophe trends, and consumer insights into concise briefings that inform C-suite decisions and board-level discussions.
- • Partner with engineering leadership to shape the product capabilities roadmap—rating engines, underwriting workbenches, document-generation services—ensuring that every new feature supports scale, accuracy, and lightning-fast iteration.
- • Champion change management across the organization: design rollout plans, craft communication strategies, and train front-line teams so that every product enhancement lands smoothly and drives measurable lift in conversion or profitability.
- • Represent Branch externally at NCOIL, NAMIC, or state DOI hearings when complex filings or regulatory objections arise, articulating our risk-selection rationale and reinforcing our reputation for transparency and consumer-centric innovation.
- • Institutionalize a test-and-learn culture: establish hypothesis-driven experimentation frameworks, define success metrics, and share learnings company-wide so that every new product bet compounds Branch’s knowledge advantage.
- • Balance long-range vision (3-year product roadmap, emerging risk models, embedded insurance partnerships) with quarterly OKRs, ensuring the team stays nimble yet aligned to Branch’s mission of making insurance more affordable for more people.
