- • Lead Amgen’s national strategy to expand employer coverage of GLP-1 therapies for obesity and related conditions, and other assigned therapeutic areas, shaping coverage decisions, benefit design, and long-term investment in population health.
- • Identify, segment, and prioritize key employer stakeholders including Jumbo Employers, HR/Benefit leaders, Employer Benefit Consultants, and national employer coalitions for tailored engagement.
- • Develop and communicate employer-focused value propositions that articulate clinical outcomes, economic impact, and long-term healthcare savings tied to Amgen’s therapies.
- • Partner with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) teams to leverage real-world evidence (RWE) and outcomes data to support employer coverage and access decisions.
- • Drive initiatives to reduce formulary access, clinical, and economic barriers to patient access for obesity and other assigned treatments.
- • Serve as a key market access leader supporting launch planning, execution, and post-launch optimization for new products, ensuring employer readiness and adoption.
- • Hire, lead, and guide the employer market account team, setting priorities and overseeing communications strategies.
- • Support compliant development of employer-specific training resources, engagement materials, and B2B promotional strategies aligned with regulatory guidelines.
- • Partner with Sales Leadership to strengthen customer engagement strategies and enhance sales enablement efforts for employer accounts.
- • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with employers, employer benefit consultants, and national coalitions to influence obesity management as a chronic disease requiring treatment.
- • Represent Amgen in high-impact external industry forums, customer engagements, and policy discussions to shape benefit design trends and policy direction.
- • Manage performance against business objectives, key performance indicators, and coverage expansion targets for employer markets.
- • Translate employer insights and competitive market intelligence into actionable recommendations for account management and cross-functional teams.
- • Lead development of account strategies that align access, contracting, and value delivery to support a positive patient journey.
- • Monitor employer market trends, segmentation changes, legislative developments, and competitive dynamics to proactively identify growth opportunities.
- • Provide strategic direction to field teams to ensure consistent, high-impact employer engagement across regions.
- • Integrate employer insights into brand strategy, market access planning, and portfolio optimization activities.
- • Translate organizational strategy into execution across multiple internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions beyond immediate function.
- • Lead cross-functional initiatives through influence, aligning Brand, HEOR, Medical, Policy, Sales, Legal, and Regulatory teams to deliver differentiated value.
- • Operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels, demonstrating leadership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- • Maintain executive presence and regularly engage C-suite and senior external stakeholders in employer and payer ecosystems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Sales, Marketing, and/or Payor experience OR Master’s degree and 8 years of Sales, Marketing, and/or Payor experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of Sales, Marketing, and/or Payor experience
- • Deep expertise in U.S. market access with strong experience in employer and/or payer engagement
- • Proven success influencing coverage, reimbursement, or benefit design decisions
- • Experience supporting product launches or major access inflection points
- • Strong understanding of obesity, cardiometabolic, or specialty market dynamics
- • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, leading through influence
