📋 Description
- • Draft, execute, monitor, and adapt independent US Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Stakeholder Engagement Plans for key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the Women’s Health therapeutic area, aligned with the US Women’s Health MSL Team Lead and Medical Lead.
- • Conduct non-promotional, evidence-based, fair-balanced, and compliant interactions with HCPs and KOLs regarding Viatris medicines, ensuring adherence to the PhRMA Code, ACCME Standards, Federal and State promotional laws, and company SOPs.
- • Respond to Unsolicited Medical Requests (UMRs) from HCPs and external stakeholders with accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant medical communications.
- • Document all HCP interactions, travel, and activities in VEEVA and submit timely expense reports and PTO/vacation requests.
- • Identify and internally communicate activities of rival Medical Affairs organizations targeting the same KOLs and HCPs to inform strategic positioning.
- • Recognize and report unmet medical education needs among target KOLs and HCPs, and collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative, non-promotional educational materials such as slide decks and videos that differentiate from competitors.
- • Gather, synthesize, and communicate KOL insights related to clinical trends, therapeutic needs, and company strategies to guide Medical Affairs and broader organizational decision-making.
- • Develop and submit Ad Board, Congress, and Customer Insight Reports based on field interactions and conference participation.
- • Staff and represent Viatris Medical Affairs at industry congresses and conventions, including managing booth activities and engaging attendees with scientifically accurate information.
- • Provide training to internal commercial and cross-functional teams on Viatris products and disease states using only materials approved by the Medical Review Committee (MRC) or the Viatris Promotional Material Approval Process (VMap).
- • Maintain extensive field-based presence across assigned US territories, with 50%–80% travel required, including overnight and weekend travel, utilizing remote participation where appropriate.
- • Adapt engagement strategies and geographic focus as territories may change over time, requiring flexibility and agility in execution.
- • Demonstrate strong analytical abilities to interpret complex clinical data and translate findings into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
- • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and patient advocacy groups through professional, ethical, and trust-based interactions.
- • Exercise personal accountability, set high-performance goals, and proactively seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- • Embrace and actively support Viatris’ principles of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in all internal and external engagements.
- • Maintain proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending, to ensure clear and compliant communication with all stakeholders.
- • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the objectives of the US Women’s Health Medical Affairs team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical (e.g., hospital/patient care) industry
- • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required; experience in OB/GYN is required
- • Knowledge of US MSL roles, clinical trials, therapeutic areas, SOPs, PhRMA Code, ACCME Standards, and Federal/State promotional regulations
- • Ability to manage KOL relationships, interpret clinical data, and communicate insights effectively
- • Willingness and ability to travel 50%–80% domestically, including overnight and weekend travel
- • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension)
