- • The Director of Business Development, U.S. at Viatris leads the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic growth opportunities in the U.S. market, focusing on generics, complex generics, established brands, and mature products nearing loss of exclusivity, while also pursuing innovative product opportunities that align with the company’s portfolio and operational model.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include building and managing a robust U.S. deal pipeline, monitoring market trends and regulatory developments, assessing strategic and financial viability of opportunities, coordinating cross-functional due diligence with Legal, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, and presenting business cases to executive leadership.
- • Viatris is a global healthcare company dedicated to expanding access to high-quality medicines, serving approximately 1 billion patients annually worldwide by bridging generics and brand pharmaceuticals to address healthcare needs across the lifespan.
- • The role offers the opportunity to shape the company’s U.S. portfolio strategy, drive revenue growth through strategic transactions, develop expertise in pharmaceutical lifecycle management, and influence high-level decision-making through close collaboration with Commercial, R&D, and Operations leadership.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- • 6-10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical business development, commercial strategy, or corporate development within the U.S.
- • Strong knowledge of U.S. generics, complex generics, and loss of exclusivity (LOE) lifecycle strategies
- • Proven experience in transaction execution (licensing, acquisitions, partnerships)
- • Strong financial and analytical acumen with ability to assess market potential and development feasibility
- • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Commercial, R&D, Finance, Operations, and other teams
