  • • Serve as the central operational leader during a 10–12 month parental leave coverage contract, ensuring seamless continuity across finance, people, compliance, and administrative functions at OpsLevel.
  • • Manage end-to-end finance operations including payroll coordination, accounts payable workflows, budgeting support, and recurring financial reporting to maintain fiscal discipline and accuracy.
  • • Oversee people operations processes such as employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, leave tracking, and performance review cycles to ensure timely and compliant execution.
  • • Maintain operational compliance by managing insurance renewals, vendor agreements, and regulatory documentation, ensuring all business practices meet legal and internal standards.
  • • Coordinate and manage relationships with external fractional partners and contractors, ensuring alignment on deliverables, timelines, and operational continuity.
  • • Provide direct supervision and guidance to one direct report, supporting their development and accountability in day-to-day operational tasks.
  • • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic operational planning, cross-functional coordination, and the documentation of workflows to enhance transparency and scalability.
  • • Proactively identify inefficiencies and gaps in internal processes, proposing and implementing improvements to streamline operations across finance, HR, and vendor management functions.
  • • Ensure all operational deadlines are consistently met across finance, people operations, and compliance domains without disruption during the contract period.
  • • Maintain high standards of documentation and communication, ensuring all operational systems, policies, and procedures are clearly recorded and accessible to stakeholders.
  • • Deliver a seamless operational experience for all employees by resolving administrative inquiries promptly and ensuring systems function reliably.
  • • Maintain strong visibility into operational priorities, risks, and dependencies, providing clear updates to leadership to enable informed decision-making.
  • • Operate independently in a fast-paced, remote-first startup environment, balancing multiple parallel workstreams with shifting priorities while maintaining calm and precision.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in business operations, finance operations, people operations, or similar startup operational roles
  • • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments
  • • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines simultaneously
  • • Strong judgment and comfort making independent decisions within defined boundaries
  • • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
