- • Design and implement scalable, AI-enabled contracting processes across customer, vendor, partner, reseller, NDA, DPA, and employment agreements to accelerate deal velocity while maintaining calibrated risk exposure.
- • Own the commercial mechanics of revenue generation by partnering with Finance and Sales on pricing models, discounting strategies, usage-based and AI-driven billing, over-provisioning, true-up calculations, deal desk workflows, and approval hierarchies that impact margin and revenue.
- • Operationalize legal and commercial rulebooks by creating playbooks, fallback positions, and escalation criteria that empower sales teams (AEs and RSDs) to resolve standard contract redlines autonomously without legal bottlenecks.
- • Lead security and compliance initiatives by collaborating with CTO and IT to obtain and maintain enterprise-critical certifications including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP to enable sales into public-sector and regulated markets.
- • Integrate and deploy cutting-edge AI tools to automate contract review, redlining, and risk flagging, continuously improving cycle times and reducing manual effort across the commercial lifecycle.
- • Serve as a strategic business partner on financing and M&A transactions, supporting due diligence, deal structuring, document review, and counsel management to optimize cost and leverage.
- • Drive international expansion efforts by identifying legal and operational barriers to entry in new markets and coordinating with external counsel to establish compliant local operations.
- • Build systems that replace ad-hoc problem-solving with repeatable, self-service workflows — prioritizing process engineering over manual contract drafting.
- • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, IT, Channel Partnerships, Professional Services, and outside counsel to align commercial operations with company growth objectives.
- • Act as a commercial thought partner who optimizes for velocity, margin, and relationship outcomes — not just risk mitigation — balancing legal constraints with business imperatives.
- • Maintain deep fluency in B2B SaaS commercial dynamics, including contract term tradeoffs, revenue recognition mechanics, and negotiation levers that impact customer acquisition and retention.
- • Continuously evaluate and adopt new AI-driven productivity tools, actively testing and integrating them into daily workflows to stay ahead of operational inefficiencies.
- • Ensure all operational systems are designed to scale with rapid growth, anticipating bottlenecks before they emerge and building infrastructure to support 10x revenue expansion.
- • Maintain clear documentation and training materials to enable team adoption of new processes and tools without reliance on centralized legal or ops support.
- • Champion a culture of autonomy and accountability by empowering non-legal teams to make confident, compliant commercial decisions within defined guardrails.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in business operations, deal desk, legal operations, or contract management with meaningful commercial responsibility
- • Proven experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth startup environments
- • Demonstrated ability to build scalable, AI-enabled commercial workflows that reduce dependency on legal teams
