đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the technical vision, research, and engineering execution for Motorola Solutions’ Computer Vision Platform, defining long-term research agendas and fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
- • Provide executive technical leadership to a unified, distributed research and engineering organization spanning multiple geographies, overseeing teams of 50–100 engineers and researchers.
- • Define and own the technical architecture, strategy, and engineering roadmap for scalable, enterprise-grade computer vision solutions integrated into mission-critical security and public safety systems.
- • Drive end-to-end MLOps practices for central, reusable computer vision models, ensuring robust training, efficient deployment, continuous monitoring, and performance optimization across cloud and edge environments.
- • Establish and track key technical performance metrics—including latency, throughput, model efficiency, and system reliability—to measure engineering success, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.
- • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge computer vision research and technologies, leading critical engineering decisions such as build-versus-buy analyses and risk mitigation for high-stakes AI deployments.
- • Translate ambiguous product concepts and complex customer needs from public safety, security, and emergency communications domains into clear, executable technical roadmaps and architectural specifications.
- • Manage talent strategy for recruiting, mentoring, and retaining world-class computer vision researchers and engineers, scaling organizational capability across global teams.
- • Own the full lifecycle of foundational AI infrastructure, ensuring models are production-ready, scalable, and aligned with business objectives for video security, evidence management, and real-time threat detection.
- • Champion innovation through foundational research in real-time video processing, inference optimization, and AI performance metrics such as Precision/Recall, while maintaining alignment with enterprise-grade reliability standards.
- • Operate with a start-up mentality: demonstrate high ownership, bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and proven ability to drive 0-to-1 product development in resource-constrained environments.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and operations teams to ensure computer vision solutions meet the demanding requirements of school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, government facilities, and critical infrastructure.
- • Maintain deep technical engagement in computer vision algorithms and machine learning systems, while delegating operational execution to senior technical leads and ensuring architectural integrity across the platform.
- • Ensure all AI systems comply with enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards in regulated environments including law enforcement and public safety.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of technical leadership experience leading computer vision teams and organizations with a focus on building and deploying enterprise-scale platforms in production
- • Deep, demonstrable expertise in computer vision, machine learning algorithms, and the end-to-end MLOps lifecycle, including 5+ years of hands-on experience building and optimizing computer vision models or as a computer vision researcher
- • Proven experience managing and scaling a unified, distributed engineering and research organization of 50–100 people across multiple geographies
- • Demonstrated ability to define long-term technical vision, engineering strategy, and roadmaps for large-scale AI platforms with measurable performance metrics (e.g., latency, throughput, model efficiency)
- • Strong analytical and research skills with hands-on experience in AI performance metrics, real-time video processing, and inference optimization
- • Track record of translating ambiguous product concepts and complex customer needs into executable technical roadmaps and architectural specifications
