đź“‹ Description

  • • As Director of Conservative Content at Change.org, you will lead the development and execution of a national conservative communications strategy designed to reshape brand perception, deepen trust, and drive meaningful engagement with conservative audiences across the United States. This role is pivotal in advancing Change.org’s mission to strengthen democracy by ensuring the platform resonates with and mobilizes one of the nation’s most influential political constituencies.
  • • You will partner closely with executive leadership, product, engineering, and global communications teams to align conservative outreach with organizational goals, ensuring that storytelling, media engagement, and campaign amplification are strategically integrated and impact-driven.
  • • Day to day, you will design and drive the strategic narrative framework that positions Change.org as a trusted platform for conservative civic action, translating complex democratic ideals into relatable, values-based messaging that resonates with center-right audiences.
  • • You will set and lead a national conservative media engagement strategy, identifying and prioritizing top-tier outlets — including broadcast, digital, print, podcasts, and emerging platforms — to secure high-impact coverage that elevates Change.org’s mission and amplifies user-led campaigns.
  • • You will oversee the creation and delivery of high-impact pitches, press releases, op-eds, and media briefings that shape public discourse, mitigate reputational risk, and drive awareness, adoption, and trust in Change.org’s tools and initiatives among conservative constituencies.
  • • You will maintain and grow a global network of high-leverage media relationships, cultivating trust with senior editors, executive producers, influential journalists, podcasters, and influencers across the conservative media ecosystem to ensure rapid, credible amplification of key messages.
  • • You will use data-driven insights to guide tactical decisions, measuring the effectiveness of media outreach, audience engagement, and sentiment shifts to continuously refine strategy and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders.
  • • You will collaborate with product and campaign teams to highlight conservative-led initiatives on the platform, ensuring that stories of grassroots change from conservative communities are amplified nationally and internationally.
  • • You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership during periods of heightened public scrutiny, providing strategic counsel on crisis communication, message discipline, and stakeholder management to protect and enhance Change.org’s reputation.
  • • You will mentor and develop a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, rigor, and inclusivity while ensuring alignment with Change.org’s values of openness, equity, and democratic participation.
  • • About the team or company: Change.org is the world’s largest platform for democracy, empowering over 100 million people annually to start, sign, and amplify petitions for change. We are rebuilding our core platform using cutting-edge AI and civic technology to help people find common ground on >80% of issues and mobilize hundreds of millions around shared solutions — all while maintaining a fiercely nonpartisan commitment to giving everyone a voice.
  • • Our culture is rooted in intellectual humility, bold experimentation, and deep respect for diverse perspectives. We believe that healthy democracy requires listening across divides, and this role is a critical expression of that belief — proving that technology can bridge polarization when guided by empathy, strategy, and courage.
  • • In this role, you will have the rare opportunity to shape how one of the world’s most influential digital democracy platforms engages with conservative America — not as a political actor, but as a facilitator of civic power. You will leave a measurable legacy in building trust, expanding participation, and demonstrating that platforms like Change.org can be forces for unity, not division.
  • • You will gain unparalleled experience in strategic communications at the intersection of technology, social impact, and partisan media landscapes — developing skills that are increasingly vital in an era of fragmented trust and rising democratic strain.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8-10+ years of experience in strategic corporate communications, media relations, public affairs, or public relations
  • • Proven track record of shaping media narratives and leading successful engagement with top-tier conservative media outlets, including broadcast, digital, print, and emerging platforms
  • • Demonstrated success in securing and sustaining high-profile media coverage that aligns with organizational goals, mitigates reputational risk, and drives meaningful brand and mission outcomes

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive, location-based salary ranging from $195,500 to $230,000 annually, determined by a transparent pay equity scale
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • • Generous paid time off, including holidays and company-wide shutdowns
  • • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • • Professional development stipend and learning opportunities
  • • Remote-first work flexibility with options to work from anywhere in the United States
