- • As the Director of Content Systems & Research, you will spearhead one of the most strategic and high-leverage initiatives at AirOps: advancing the profession of Content Engineering through rigorous research, world-class education, and the productization of our core intellectual property. We envision Content Engineering becoming the most critical role within modern B2B marketing organizations by 2026, seamlessly integrating organic growth strategy, frontier research, and precise workflow execution.
- • This leadership role is a single-threaded ownership position, tasked with transforming our foundational efforts in these domains into a durable, compounding advantage that delivers exceptional value to our customers and elevates the entire market. This is fundamentally a research-led position.
- • You will be responsible for developing and scaling a robust research engine to uncover the intricacies of AI search, identify the drivers of visibility across AI agents, and determine which content strategies consistently achieve success. The insights generated from this research will fuel our educational programs, designed to train the next generation of Content Engineers, and will be embedded into Power Agents – our reusable workflows that encapsulate best practices and deliver immediate value to teams of all sizes.
- • Key responsibilities include shaping and scaling our research engine, producing and guiding rigorous, frontier insights with our existing research team to inform the market and establish AirOps as a public voice for research. You will champion the rise of the Content Engineer by translating research into comprehensive curriculum, training tracks, and platform-specific education, thereby lowering the barrier to entry for beginners and elevating the expertise of advanced users.
- • Furthermore, you will productize our core intellectual property by guiding the strategy and development of Power Agents, ensuring these reusable workflows embody our best practices and translate research into actionable, out-of-the-box value. Your ultimate goal will be to unify these three pillars – Research, Enablement, and Power Agents – into a cohesive, compounding system that shapes how leading teams learn, build, and succeed with AirOps.
- • You will lead a talented team and collaborate with external expert partners to accelerate execution across research, enablement, and workflow development.
- • **Research Engine:** Empower our existing research team to deepen their expertise and expand the scope of AirOps' research capabilities. This involves strengthening and scaling our best-in-class research motion, which integrates internal analysts, external research partners, and customer data. You will define rigorous methodologies for causal and correlational testing across AI search, organic visibility, and content performance. As the public evangelist for AirOps research, you will represent our insights across online channels, conferences, workshops, and customer programs, translating findings directly into practical playbooks, platform guidance, and workflow recommendations.
- • **Content Engineering Education & Enablement:** Build and scale tiered Content Engineering tracks, complete with platform-specific training, curriculum, and resources. Convert research findings into effective curriculum, training materials, and platform-specific best practices. Grow and steward the community of Content Engineers, implementing programs that drive activation, retention, and long-term mastery.
- • **Core IP & Power Agents:** Own the roadmap for and launch AirOps Power Agents, targeting the most demanding and high-leverage use cases. Ensure Power Agents deliver significant out-of-the-box value across both self-serve and enterprise segments, informed by continuous feedback from research and enablement efforts.
- • **Cross-Functional Leadership:** Establish the overarching strategy, key metrics, and operating cadence that unify Research, Enablement, and Power Agents into a single, compounding system. You will collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teams to embed insights and data directly into workflows and playbooks. Lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate external experts to accelerate execution across research, education, and workflow development, ensuring alignment and driving impactful outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-7 years of experience in organic search, with a proven track record of impact in B2B, SaaS, or Marketplace Growth environments.
- • Hands-on experience with AI search channels and mechanics.
- • Strong research leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to design rigorous, credible, methodology-driven insights for both technical and executive audiences.
- • Deep curiosity about emerging AI patterns, model behavior, and the future of search, coupled with a bias for experimentation and rapid learning.
- • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex ideas into clear, sharp narratives for practitioners and executives, and comfortable presenting across various mediums (social content, stage presentations, online, podcasts).
- • Nice to have: Strong presence and/or audience in the organic search space.
- • Nice to have: Experience in curriculum, education, or content framework design, ideally building structured learning paths or training programs.
