đź“‹ Description

  • • This is a groundbreaking opportunity to establish and lead a new, high-impact data-licensing business from its inception. As the Director of Data Partnerships, you will be instrumental in shaping the commercial strategy and execution for monetizing our proprietary financial and business data, driving significant revenue growth and market presence.
  • • You will own the entire end-to-end commercial lifecycle, from identifying unmet market needs and conceptualizing new data products to developing sophisticated pricing models and spearheading new business acquisition efforts. This role demands a visionary leader who can translate complex data assets into valuable solutions for a diverse range of enterprise clients.
  • • As the primary external representative for our data offerings, your core mission will be to cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with businesses that depend on accurate, timely, and high-quality financial intelligence. You will be the trusted advisor and go-to person for clients seeking to leverage our unique data insights.
  • • Reporting directly to the VP of Growth, this position offers a unique blend of strategic foresight, deep product understanding, and hands-on sales execution. You will be empowered to make critical decisions and drive the business line forward with autonomy and support.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams. You will work hand-in-hand with our Data, Engineering, Legal, and Finance departments to ensure our data products are not only packaged effectively and delivered in the precise formats our customers require but are also strategically positioned for sustainable, long-term growth and market leadership.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass building and executing a comprehensive commercial strategy tailored for the monetization of our company's proprietary financial and business data. This includes identifying and evaluating potential new high-value data assets or datasets that we should proactively collect and productize to meet evolving market demands.
  • • You will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new data-licensing partnerships, focusing on enterprise-level buyers. This involves developing sophisticated data packaging strategies, which may include defining product tiers, specifying delivery formats (e.g., real-time APIs, bulk data downloads, scheduled data feeds), and establishing flexible access models.
  • • Defining robust pricing strategies will be a critical function, informed by thorough market demand analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and a deep understanding of the value our data provides to customers.
  • • You will act as the crucial liaison between our clients and internal technical teams, effectively communicating customer requirements, detailed data specifications, and essential delivery standards to ensure seamless integration and satisfaction.
  • • Building and meticulously managing a robust pipeline of prospective clients will be paramount. You will own the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach and qualification through to final contract execution.
  • • Collaboration with Legal and Finance departments will be essential for structuring complex deals, negotiating favorable contract terms, and ensuring strict adherence to all data usage guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • • Continuous monitoring of market trends, competitor offerings, and relevant regulatory developments is vital to inform and refine both our product roadmap and overall commercial strategy.
  • • You will establish key reporting mechanisms and performance metrics to diligently track revenue growth, measure operational efficiency, and identify areas for continuous improvement within the data-licensing business.
  • • This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to identifying untapped market opportunities and translating them into actionable, revenue-generating plans. You will be the architect of our data monetization future, building a business line that is both profitable and strategically vital to the company's overall growth trajectory.
  • • Success in this role will be measured by your ability to establish a thriving data-licensing business, achieve ambitious revenue targets, and build a strong reputation for delivering high-quality data solutions and exceptional customer service.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in B2B sales, business development, strategic partnerships, or a closely related commercial role, with a demonstrable track record of success.
  • • Proven, hands-on experience in new business acquisition and successfully closing complex, enterprise-level deals, preferably within data-centric industries.
  • • Prior experience in data licensing, developing and commercializing data products, or working within the financial information services sector is strongly preferred and would be a significant advantage.
  • • A strong, practical understanding of various data delivery models, including APIs, bulk file transfers, and structured datasets, coupled with the ability to clearly articulate customer needs and technical requirements to internal engineering and data teams.
  • • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and establish trust with senior stakeholders at client organizations.
  • • A strategic mindset capable of identifying nascent market opportunities, assessing their commercial viability, and translating them into concrete, actionable business plans.
  • • Highly self-directed and entrepreneurial, with a demonstrated comfort level operating independently and driving initiatives forward within a new and rapidly growing business line.
  • • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams, including technical, product, legal, and finance departments.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus structure.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
  • • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • • Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere.
  • • Be a foundational member of a new, high-growth business unit with significant impact potential.
