📋 Description

  • HavocAI is at the forefront of collaborative autonomy, pioneering solutions for complex maritime challenges. We are seeking a visionary Director of Port and Infrastructure Security to spearhead our expansion across U.S. ports and terminal operations, serving both commercial and government sectors. This pivotal role demands a strategic leader capable of building robust sales pipelines, crafting effective capture strategies, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the seamless deployment of our cutting-edge autonomous systems within diverse maritime environments.
  • As HavocAI's foremost domain expert in port security, you will act as a crucial bridge between commercial port authorities, terminal operators, and key government agencies such as the Coast Guard, Navy, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Your deep understanding of port operations, coupled with expertise in government procurement, funding mechanisms, and deployment of maritime security solutions, will be instrumental. You will also be adept at navigating the landscape of private entities and contractors involved in port security.
  • This role encompasses end-to-end ownership of opportunities, from initial customer engagement and pilot program design to scaled deployments and long-term account management. You will collaborate intimately with our Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Product, Engineering, and Mission Operations teams to guarantee that HavocAI's autonomous solutions are not only operationally effective but also scalable and perfectly tailored to the unique demands of port environments.
  • **Port Security Vertical Strategy (Commercial + Government):**
  • Define, refine, and execute HavocAI’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy specifically for the port security sector, encompassing both commercial and government clients.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize key accounts across commercial port authorities, terminal operators, and federal maritime security stakeholders, including the Coast Guard, DHS, Navy, and local maritime law enforcement agencies.
  • Develop and implement repeatable, scalable playbooks for pilot programs, full-scale deployments, and subsequent expansion initiatives, adeptly navigating various procurement pathways.
  • Conduct comprehensive competitive intelligence gathering, staying abreast of emerging port security technologies, key vendors, evolving procurement trends, and critical operational requirements.
  • **Revenue Growth & Capture:**
  • Cultivate and meticulously manage a high-quality sales pipeline within the port security domain.
  • Assume direct responsibility for pipeline development, opportunity advancement, and achieving significant revenue growth within this critical vertical.
  • Lead complex commercial sales engagements and provide crucial support for government capture efforts, including responding to RFIs, RFPs, OTAs, and grant applications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to develop targeted collateral and compelling messaging for the port security market.
  • Drive the successful transition of pilot projects into large-scale, long-term deployments and contracts.
  • Proactively identify and strategically mitigate potential barriers to adoption, such as regulatory hurdles, operational risk concerns, integration complexities with existing infrastructure, and fragmented funding streams.
  • **Customer Engagement & Operational Expertise:**
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for a wide array of port security use cases, including but not limited to:
  • Waterside perimeter monitoring and surveillance.
  • Persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) for critical port infrastructure.
  • Enforcement of restricted zones and operational areas.
  • Detection, tracking, and response to unauthorized vessel activity.
  • Providing critical support during security incidents, emergencies, or periods of heightened threat.
  • Ensure that all proposed solutions are meticulously aligned with the practical operational constraints of real-world port environments, considering factors such as vessel traffic patterns, stringent safety requirements, environmental conditions, the dynamics of unionized labor, and the integration with legacy security systems.
  • Engage directly and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including port directors, harbor masters, security chiefs, and senior leaders within government maritime organizations.
  • Skillfully translate complex operational pain points expressed by customers into actionable, effective autonomy solutions and well-defined deployment models.
  • **Cross-Functional Alignment:**
  • Partner effectively with Strategy and GTM teams to ensure that port security use cases are leveraged across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to refine the articulation of our capabilities and to capture impactful case studies that showcase success.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Product and Engineering to ensure that roadmap priorities are directly informed by and aligned with the evolving requirements of the port security market. Translate customer operational needs into concrete product requirements, optimal solution packaging, and effective deployment strategies.
  • Coordinate with Mission Operations to design and implement scalable, repeatable deployment frameworks that ensure consistent customer success.
  • Guarantee that both commercial and government-specific requirements, including compliance, reporting standards, and security posture mandates, are fully integrated into our solution delivery processes.
  • Maintain close collaboration with the Government Relations (GR) team to ensure strategic alignment of regional efforts and advocacy.
  • **Market Leadership & External Representation:**
  • Represent HavocAI as a thought leader and key participant at prominent port security, maritime defense, and critical infrastructure conferences and forums (e.g., AAPA, ASIS, various maritime security summits).
  • Actively build and promote HavocAI's thought leadership position concerning the application of autonomy in enhancing port security and overall maritime resilience.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop and disseminate vertical-specific messaging, white papers, and success stories.
  • **What Success Looks Like:**
  • HavocAI solidifies its position as a recognized leader in both commercial and government port security markets.
  • Key strategic port accounts successfully transition from pilot phases to scaled, long-term deployments.
  • Demonstrable and sustained revenue growth is achieved through both commercial contracts and government awards.
  • A robust, repeatable, and efficient sales and deployment motion is established and optimized within the port security vertical.
  • Port-specific requirements significantly influence and enhance the durable product roadmap, creating lasting competitive advantages.
  • HavocAI becomes the trusted autonomy partner of choice across the entire near-shore maritime security ecosystem.

🎯 Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in maritime security, port operations, maritime defense, or critical infrastructure security, with a strong understanding of operational workflows, regulatory frameworks, and security challenges.
  • Demonstrated success working across both commercial port authorities/terminal operators and/or government maritime security stakeholders (e.g., Coast Guard, DHS, Navy, CBP).
  • Proven experience in business development, capture management, or sales roles, specifically supporting the sale of complex technical solutions, with a track record of building pipeline and advancing opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and leverage both commercial procurement processes and complex government acquisition pathways (e.g., RFIs, RFPs, OTAs, grants).
  • Strong executive-level communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse groups.
  • U.S. Citizen; eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is strongly preferred.
