- • Own the end-to-end product strategy and vision for Spellbook’s AI copilot platform designed for transactional lawyers, spanning the core Microsoft Word integration, Associate features, playbooks, and future product extensions.
- • Lead, build, and mentor a small team of Product Managers, establishing culture, processes, and craft standards that drive high-performance product delivery.
- • Define and own the product roadmap, balancing short-term customer value with long-term platform innovation, making prioritization and trade-off decisions with clarity and conviction.
- • Partner closely with engineering and design teams to ensure clear specifications, rapid feedback loops, unblocked execution, and successful product launches with measurable impact.
- • Lead go-to-market coordination for all product releases, aligning marketing, sales, and customer success teams to maximize adoption, retention, and revenue impact.
- • Synthesize customer insights from user research, support tickets, sales calls, and behavioral data to inform product decisions and prioritize features that solve real legal workflow pain points.
- • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, contributing directly to company direction, investor narratives, and fundraising materials.
- • Establish and own key product metrics and feedback loops to measure health, adoption, and outcomes across the entire product portfolio.
- • Drive execution with urgency and calm, distinguishing between critical fires and noise, and maintaining momentum through ambiguity and rapid scaling.
- • Communicate effectively across functions: write crisp product requirements, present roadmaps to the board, negotiate scope with engineers, and advocate for the customer in every decision.
- • Stay deeply informed on AI capabilities—particularly LLMs, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation frameworks—to distinguish real leverage from hype and guide product innovation.
- • Ensure product decisions are grounded in the realities of legal workflows, contract drafting, review, and negotiation, with a focus on eliminating drudgery and increasing precision for legal professionals.
- • Support additional strategic initiatives as needed, including potential acquisitions, integrations, or expansion into adjacent legaltech verticals.
🎯 Requirements
- • Led product at a high-growth B2B SaaS company (Series A–C), ideally in vertical AI, legaltech, or professional-services context
- • Experience managing and mentoring a team of Product Managers, with proven ability to hire, develop, and hold high standards without micromanaging
- • Demonstrated track record of shipping impactful products end-to-end, with clear examples of launches and lessons learned
- • Deep understanding of AI/LLM capabilities and limitations, with ability to separate real leverage from hype in product development
- • Strong systems thinking: ability to balance portfolio-level strategy with granular user flow and edge-case details
- • Exceptional communication skills: ability to write PRDs, present to executives, and navigate difficult conversations with engineers and stakeholders
