Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Director of Product at Help Scout, you will own business outcomes by defining what winning looks like across the product suite and making strategic bets that drive metrics, not just adhering to roadmaps or processes.
- • You will set clear product strategy, partner with senior leaders to inform prioritization, manage tradeoffs using data and logic, and connect product decisions to financial levers like pricing, packaging, retention, and margin.
- • You will lead and develop a team of 4 product managers, establish outcome-based goals, reduce cycle times by removing unnecessary gates, and foster a culture of trust and talent density.
- • You will deepen your expertise in AI-augmented product work, spend time with customers to gather qualitative insights, leverage data tools like Hex and Mixpanel, and shape how the team uses AI for research, prototyping, and strategy.
- • Help Scout is a fully remote, mission-driven company serving over 10,000 relationship-focused businesses with a culture rooted in trust, craft, progress, and owning outcomes — where you’ll do some of the best work of your career.
- • In this role, you will grow as a strategic leader by refining your judgment through coaching and critique, strengthening your writing and presentation skills, and advancing your ability to connect product work to business economics.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience owning business outcomes and measuring success by the impact of product bets on key metrics.
- • Strong strategic judgment with the ability to prioritize bets in ambiguous situations using evidence and adapt when data demands it.
- • Fluency with AI tools and a clear perspective on how AI is transforming product work, including using AI for research, prototyping, and customer signal analysis.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make thinking visible and serve as a credible voice for product vision.
- • Deep product sense and design judgment, consistently upholding quality and noticing when something is off.
- • Understanding of product as a financial lever, with experience connecting roadmap decisions to pricing, retention, margin, and other business economics.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary with an internal, transparent salary formula based on market data.
- • Flexible time off — choose the holidays and vacations that work for you.
- • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents, including adoption and foster care.
- • Home office stipend to support your remote setup.
- • Co-working stipend of up to $300 per month if you work outside your home.
- • Yearly professional development stipend of $1,800 to grow in your craft.
- • Top-tier health insurance for you and your dependents if you're in the U.S. or Canada.
