Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Director of Product Management for the AI Generation Engine (SAIGE) at SandboxAQ Inc., you will lead product strategy and execution for high-impact AI solutions in finance and insurance, driving innovation at the intersection of quantitative modeling, AI, and real-world business challenges. You will own the vision for next-generation AI capabilities that position SandboxAQ as a global leader in quantitative AI, partnering with customers to solve complex problems in portfolio risk, capital modeling, underwriting, and scenario analysis.
  • • Day to day, you will own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for the Finance & Risk Modeling portfolio, developing deep customer understanding of workflows, data flows, and existing tools like portfolio/risk modeling systems and vendor platforms. You will partner with quantitative researchers, ML engineers, and domain experts to translate complex customer problems into clear product requirements and model/data needs, while defining success metrics and validation strategies to demonstrate differentiated value against incumbent solutions.
  • • You will lead rapid prototyping and 0→1 innovation by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing new AI/LQM use cases across domains, guiding product discovery through hypothesis development, lightweight customer validation, and rapid iteration on prototypes. You will work with engineering and research to scope meaningful experiments, establish rigorous yet pragmatic prioritization frameworks, and ensure the team focuses on highest-impact opportunities amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • • You will serve as a trusted product partner to senior stakeholders at key financial and insurance institutions — including heads of risk, portfolio managers, actuaries, and CROs — speaking credibly about risk models, scenarios, and portfolio decisions. You will lead customer conversations from discovery through pilot definition and adoption, connecting needs to the SAIGE roadmap, and communicate progress, learnings, and recommendations clearly to internal and external audiences, including executives.
  • • You will collaborate tightly with UXR, design, engineering, and research teams, leveraging your ability to navigate technical and business domains with clarity and empathy. You will drive execution in low-structure environments, creating necessary processes proactively while remaining adaptable to evolving strategies, and champion SandboxAQ’s SAIGE principles: Prototype with Velocity, Explore Boldly, Fail Smart, Learn Fast, Look Forward, and Share Knowledge.
  • • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of quantitative AI by building products with real-world impact in high-stakes industries, leading cross-functional innovation from concept to early product, and growing your leadership in a mission-driven, high-growth environment backed by deep technical expertise and entrepreneurial ownership.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of product management experience, with substantial time spent on complex B2B or platform products and several years at a senior/staff/principal/director level (L7-equivalent scope).
  • • Experience in financial services and/or insurance, particularly in risk modeling (portfolio risk, capital modeling, asset-liability management, market/credit risk, or insurance risk), financial simulation, scenario analysis, or portfolio analytics and decision support tools.
  • • Demonstrated ability to work closely with quantitative and engineering teams — comfortable discussing models, data pipelines, and trade-offs, and skilled at translating technical details into customer and business value.
  • • Proven track record of 0→1 product work: identifying opportunities, shaping ideas into prototypes and early products, and thriving in high ambiguity with incomplete information and changing constraints.
  • • Strong ruthless prioritization skills: ability to define clear frameworks, make hard trade-offs, and say “no” to good ideas to focus on the highest-impact opportunities.
  • • Exceptional customer-facing skills: confident leading discovery and roadmap conversations with senior stakeholders, uncovering real needs behind stated requirements, and pressure-testing problem statements.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary, performance-based incentives or bonuses, and equity participation.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents with generous employer premium contributions.
  • • Retirement savings with company matching, paid parental leave, and inclusive family-building benefits.
  • • Flexible paid time off, company-wide seasonal breaks, and support for flexible work arrangements to enable sustainable performance.
  • • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth through on-the-job development, cross-functional collaboration, and access to internal learning and development programs.
