- • As Director of Total Rewards at Function Health Inc., you will architect and scale the compensation, equity, and benefits infrastructure to attract, retain, and motivate world-class talent in support of the company’s mission to enable people to live 100 healthy years through AI-driven health insights.
- • This role is critical to Function’s next chapter of growth following a $298M Series B funding round, requiring the design of a Total Rewards function from first principles to support hypergrowth, global expansion, and potential acquisitions while aligning incentives with long-term company performance.
- • You will design and implement Function’s Total Rewards strategy from scratch, including establishing a compensation philosophy aligned with company stage, talent density, and long-term value creation; architecting salary bands, leveling frameworks, and job architecture across the organization; and designing scalable equity programs for new hires, refreshes, and executive compensation.
- • You will oversee preparation of all materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, including executive compensation proposals, and partner with Finance and Legal to develop disciplined approaches to equity planning, dilution management, and compliance.
- • You will evaluate, design, and implement a modern benefits strategy that supports employee well-being while scaling efficiently, and build compensation review cycles, promotion frameworks, and pay governance processes to ensure consistency and fairness.
- • You will implement tools, data systems, and analytics to enable transparent, data-driven compensation decisions, and design compensation architecture suited to AI-native companies where talent density, technical leverage, and rapid innovation cycles require differentiated pay and incentive approaches.
- • You will develop compensation frameworks to support sustained hypergrowth and evolving organizational complexity, including designing global compensation strategies and geographic pay models as Function expands internationally.
- • You will build scalable processes for annual compensation reviews, promotions, and equity refresh cycles, ensuring programs remain competitive in high-demand talent markets and creating frameworks to integrate compensation structures during acquisitions.
- • You will establish reporting, dashboards, and analytics to monitor pay equity, competitiveness, and program effectiveness, and build and lead a high-performing Total Rewards team as the company scales.
- • You will own the design and evolution of Function’s equity strategy, partnering with Finance and Legal on equity pool planning, grant strategy, and long-term incentive structures, while designing executive compensation frameworks aligned with long-term company performance.
- • You will develop refresh programs to retain high-impact employees while maintaining discipline, and ensure equity programs scale effectively as the company approaches future liquidity milestones.
- • You will position Total Rewards as a strategic lever for attracting and retaining exceptional talent, advising leadership on compensation strategy during fundraising, acquisitions, and major organizational changes.
- • You will partner closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure compensation strategy supports hiring competitiveness and with People Operations to integrate compensation programs into broader people systems.
- • You will provide executive leadership with clear insights on compensation market dynamics and workforce economics, and establish governance and discipline that allows the company to scale compensation programs responsibly.
- • You will operate as a systems-oriented builder who creates durable, scalable infrastructure, bringing a strong point of view on compensation philosophy and equity design as a creative, innovative, first-principles thinker.
- • You will be clear, decisive, and accountable, data-driven and outcome-focused, comfortable operating in ambiguity while creating structure, and able to influence senior stakeholders with clarity and conviction.

🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of progressive experience in global Compensation or Total Rewards leadership roles, with at least 8 years focused specifically on compensation.
- • Proven experience building a Total Rewards function from 0 → 1 in high-growth, venture-backed companies, including scaling compensation and equity programs through hypergrowth periods.
- • Deep expertise in designing compensation frameworks, salary bands, leveling systems, and equity programs for AI-native or AI-forward companies where talent density and technical leverage shape compensation strategy.
