- • As Director of Regulatory & Compliance at Garner Health, you will lead the design and execution of the company’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) strategy, serving as the primary subject matter expert on regulatory frameworks governing healthcare products and operations.
- • You will build and own a scalable GRC framework to manage regulatory risks, obligations, and internal policies; act as the internal point-person for Revenue, Marketing, and other teams on day-to-day compliance challenges; manage license applications, renewals, and required regulatory filings; partner with Product to ensure new initiatives comply with ERISA, HIPAA, IRS, state TPA, privacy, and insurance regimes; and develop protocols for investigations, risk assessments, and incident response.
- • You will join Garner Health’s Legal team, reporting to the General Counsel, in a remote-friendly role headquartered in NYC, supporting a mission-driven healthcare technology company transforming employer-sponsored benefits through data-driven insights and high-quality, affordable care.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape a proactive, scalable compliance infrastructure that keeps pace with rapid growth, gain deep expertise in healthcare regulatory regimes, and make a meaningful impact on how healthcare is delivered and financed at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in regulatory and compliance with practical working knowledge of key regimes applicable to Garner (ERISA, HIPAA, IRS, state-level TPA, privacy, insurance)
- • J.D. from a U.S. law school and admission to a state bar
- • Proven experience building compliance programs from the ground up in a high-growth or startup environment
- • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
- • Experience working in a rapidly-evolving startup environment (ideal)
- • Desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team operating with urgency, accountability, and authentic feedback
