- • Quantinuum is seeking a visionary Director, Solutions Architecture - Quantum to establish and lead our cutting-edge solutions architecture team. This pivotal role is responsible for defining the technical strategy and overseeing the full portfolio of quantum computing solutions for our most strategic customer accounts. You will be the technical cornerstone, partnering intimately with Strategic Account Executives to not only identify but also to architect and deliver transformative quantum computing solutions that generate enduring value for our clients.
- • This position sits at the dynamic nexus of deep customer technical engagement, sophisticated commercial account strategy, and Quantinuum's unparalleled research and product development capabilities. You will be instrumental in managing the team's pipeline of technical discoveries and meticulously crafted solution designs, guiding them through the entire customer lifecycle – from initial exploratory discussions to the implementation of multi-year, high-impact quantum programs. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our customers' most ambitious technological aspirations are met with feasible, impactful, and strategically aligned quantum solutions.
- • Leveraging your extensive industry experience, you will guide customers in pinpointing complex challenges that are prime candidates for near-term quantum computing approaches. Subsequently, you will collaborate with them to meticulously shape project scopes that precisely align with Quantinuum's core research strengths and technological advantages. This involves translating intricate business needs into actionable technical roadmaps.
- • As a "player-coach," you will lead the Solutions team by setting a clear, inspiring direction, rigorously overseeing performance, and strategically allocating team resources to meet critical customer priorities. Simultaneously, you will continue to contribute directly to select strategic or technically demanding customer engagements, ensuring hands-on leadership and expertise are applied where they matter most.
- • A crucial aspect of this role involves channeling invaluable market intelligence and customer feedback directly to our research team leaders. This feedback loop is essential for ensuring that Quantinuum's research roadmaps remain tightly aligned with evolving industry needs and emerging technological opportunities, thereby maintaining our competitive edge.
- • You will also be tasked with the critical responsibility of maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date catalogue of industry-appropriate quantum use cases. This catalogue will serve as a vital guide for both customer engagement strategies and internal research and development planning, ensuring a unified and informed approach.
- • Key responsibilities include:
- • Mentoring and developing the Solutions team, encompassing goal setting, performance management, and fostering professional growth.
- • Providing strategic oversight for the team's portfolio of strategic accounts, collaborating closely with Strategic Account Executives on account planning and execution.
- • Serving as the primary technical leader and point of contact for select high-priority customer accounts.
- • Ensuring the highest standards of technical rigor, consistency, and quality across all solution designs, project scopes, and customer proposals developed by the team.
- • Overseeing team-level reporting, including detailed project status updates, robust pipeline visibility, and accurate resource capacity management.
- • Utilizing deep industry expertise to empower the Solutions team and customers in identifying challenges that are ideally suited to quantum approaches and Quantinuum's unique value proposition.
- • Guiding and approving project scopes with customers, ensuring strong alignment with Quantinuum's research strengths, and actively supporting the preparation of clear, structured, and persuasive proposals.
- • Delivering concise and impactful market feedback to research team leaders to ensure ongoing alignment of research roadmaps with critical industry needs.
- • Maintaining and evolving the comprehensive catalogue of industry-appropriate use cases to effectively support both customer engagement and strategic research planning.
- • Overseeing the creation of high-quality technical and commercial materials essential for impactful customer discussions and compelling proposals.

🎯 Requirements
- • Master's degree in quantum computing, physics, or a closely related scientific or engineering field.
- • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience working within industrial research programs in a commercial or enterprise setting.
- • Proven experience in managing technical teams or direct reports, ideally within a customer-facing environment.
- • Demonstrated success in managing complex customer relationships and delivering technically intricate projects.
- • Exceptional ability to translate complex business objectives into executable technical strategies and solutions.
- • Executive-level communication skills, with the proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
