Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Lead end-to-end NPI execution for next-generation AI accelerator hardware from Concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP across multiple concurrent programs.
  • • Own systems-level architectural sign-off and engineering change control for accelerator cards, trays, and rack-scale platforms.
  • • Build and lead the NPI engineering organization, including board/system HW design, FPGA design, and NPI lab operations, while partnering with matrixed teams in SI/PI, package, thermal, and mechanical engineering.
  • • Direct technical engagement with silicon partners, interconnect/IP providers, networking-ASIC suppliers, and tier-1 ODMs to ensure design alignment and supply chain readiness.
  • • Support hyperscaler customer engagements at the technical level, including design wins, proof-of-concept (PoC) activities, and integration deep-dives.
  • • Define and drive the validation matrix for each program, ensuring risk mitigation and a clean hand-off to production ramp.
  • • Deliver high-power, high-density AI accelerator systems (multi-hundred-watt) into hyperscaler and HPC environments with strict adherence to specifications, cost targets, and schedules.
  • • Manage the in-flight portfolio of accelerator cards, AI-fabric NICs, and scale-up rack programs, shaping the future structure and capabilities of the NPI engineering team.
  • • Ensure manufacturing readiness across all hardware components, including firmware bring-up, signal integrity, power delivery, and thermal/mechanical integration.
  • • Collaborate with Sr. Director, Systems Engineering to align NPI strategy with broader product roadmap and corporate objectives.
  • • Maintain rigorous engineering discipline across all phases of NPI, balancing innovation with production-grade reliability and scalability.
  • • Drive cross-functional alignment between design, validation, manufacturing, and customer engineering teams to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate time-to-market.
  • • Establish best practices for systems-level verification, test automation, and design-for-manufacturability in high-volume AI hardware production.
  • • Represent d-Matrix in technical discussions with key hyperscaler customers, ensuring product fit for large-scale deployment environments.
  • • Foster a culture of direct communication, humility, and execution-driven collaboration within the NPI engineering team.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 15+ years in systems/hardware engineering for compute or networking platforms, with 5+ years leading multi-team NPI execution at director or senior engineering-management level.
  • • End-to-end ownership of at least two NPI programs taken from Concept through MP at the card or rack level.
  • • Deep working knowledge across the systems stack: board design, SI/PI, power delivery, thermal/mechanical, FW bring-up, validation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • • Experience delivering high-power, high-density systems (multi-hundred-watt accelerators or dense rack-scale platforms) into hyperscaler or HPC environments.
  • • Track record leading technical partner engagement (silicon, interconnect, ASIC, ODM) and hyperscaler customer interaction.
  • • Demonstrated success building and scaling NPI engineering organizations.
  • • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Join a focused team building the inference compute platform for the next decade of generative AI.
  • • Lead high-impact programs that ship to the largest cloud and enterprise customers.
  • • Operate with the autonomy of an early-stage company and the rigor of production-grade hardware delivery.
  • • Work in an inclusive environment that values humility, direct communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
