📋 Description

• Partner with Engineering leadership to provide financial modeling and analysis for key business decisions, including resource prioritization and investment allocation to maximize ROI.
• Own and drive the financial forecasting, annual operating plan, budget tracking, and long-range planning for the Technology organization, ensuring alignment with company-wide financial targets.
• Deliver detailed engineering P&Ls by analyzing cost drivers, productivity metrics, contractor spend, and capital expenditure (capex) to identify risks, opportunities, and actionable financial insights.
• Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives by tracking and reporting KPIs against strategic cloud hosting agreements, and work cross-functionally with engineering teams to balance workloads across AWS and GCP environments.
• Design and implement financial processes to evaluate and track global technology decisions, collaborating with tax, legal, accounting, and audit teams to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
• Prepare and present complex financial models, forecasts, and executive-level presentations that incorporate assumptions, risks, and business expectations to inform leadership decision-making.
• Manage and develop a small, high-performing finance team by diagnosing capability gaps, recruiting top talent, and implementing strategies to retain and grow skilled finance professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting frameworks to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in technology financial operations.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to engineering leaders, translating technical priorities into financial terms and influencing business outcomes through data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain deep understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L) and their key margin drivers to support accurate financial planning and analysis.
• Lead strategic projects with program management and engineering leaders to improve accountability, efficiency, and return on technology investments.
• Communicate financial performance and forecasts quarterly and annually to stakeholders across Reddit, ensuring clarity and alignment on financial targets and risks.
• Apply industry knowledge and business acumen to challenge assumptions, improve existing processes, and deliver innovative financial solutions in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic, urgency, and ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines while managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to drive initiatives forward and ensure financial considerations are integrated into broader organizational decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 13+ years of FP&A experience with 2+ years specifically supporting cloud infrastructure and cloud cost analysis
• Must have hands-on experience working with AWS or GCP cloud products
• 5+ years of people management experience, including recruiting, developing, and leading a finance team
• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a similar quantitative discipline
• Experience working in investment banking or consulting
• Proven proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and building sophisticated financial models using large datasets
