Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Architect and own the end-to-end Total Rewards philosophy, roadmap, and budget for a 1,500-person, PE-backed education platform on its way from $500 M to $1 B in revenue. You will design compensation structures, benefits portfolios, payroll operations, and recognition programs that are legally compliant, culturally aligned, and competitively superior.
  • • Translate Colibri’s values—Love, Joy, Boldness, Teamwork, Curiosity—into measurable reward experiences that increase engagement, retention, and employer-brand advocacy across six industry verticals (real estate, accounting, healthcare, financial services, valuation, teaching).
  • • Serve as the executive subject-matter expert to the Chief People Officer, CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors on all things rewards: executive compensation, pay equity, sales incentives, M&A due-diligence, and proxy/CD&A disclosures. Present quarterly analytics that link reward spend to business KPIs such as revenue per employee, voluntary turnover, and offer-acceptance rate.
  • • Build agile, scalable reward models that flex with cyclical licensing renewals, seasonal course launches, and rapid tuck-in acquisitions. Embed AI-driven tools (Syndio, Payscale, Gapsquare) to conduct real-time pay-equity analyses, automate merit-cycle calibration, and flag flight-risk populations for proactive retention grants.
  • • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of compensation analysts, benefits managers, and payroll specialists. Create clear OKRs, career ladders, and succession plans that turn the Total Rewards function into a talent incubator for the broader HR organization.
  • • Own the annual rewards calendar—merit, bonus, equity refresh, benefits renewal, open enrollment, 401(k) discrimination testing, payroll year-end—delivering zero-defect execution while shrinking cycle time 20% year over year through robotic process automation and self-service dashboards.
  • • Benchmark relentlessly: participate in eight to ten industry surveys, crowd-source micro-market data for hard-to-fill SaaS and AI roles, and maintain a living “price-to-win” matrix that allows recruiters to close offers 5% below market yet 10% above candidate expectations through creative comp+benefits bundling.
  • • Champion holistic well-being by integrating mental-health apps, student-loan repayment, fertility benefits, and micro-bonuses for peer-to-peer gratitude. Measure utilization, NPS, and ROI; sunset low-value vendors and re-invest savings into high-impact perks such as certification reimbursement and paid volunteer days.
  • • Design sales-compensation plans that motivate 300+ account executives, customer-success managers, and partner-channel reps to cross-sell new verticals while protecting gross-margin dollars. Model quota feasibility, SPIFF effectiveness, and claw-back provisions in partnership with Sales Ops and Finance.
  • • Partner with HRIS and IT to implement the next-gen UKG Ultimate SaaS environment, including custom fields for gig-workforce hours, automated state-tax reciprocity, and on-demand pay. Write user stories, perform UAT, and train managers on self-service reporting.
  • • Communicate the “deal” with storytelling flair: produce total-rewards statements, interactive “offer calculators,” and two-minute Loom videos that demystify comp, equity, and benefits for candidates and employees alike, lifting perceived value by 15% without raising cost.
  • • Maintain airtight compliance: monitor 50-state wage-and-hour changes, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA, 409A, 162(m), and global GDPR shadows for EU acquisitions. Maintain a controls matrix that passes SOC-1, SOC-2, and future IPO SOX audits.
  • • Curate a recognition ecosystem that blends spot bonuses, values coins, peer badges, and quarterly President’s Club trips. Correlate recognition frequency with eNPS and customer NPS to prove that appreciated employees create delighted learners.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10–15 years of progressive compensation, benefits, and payroll experience including 5–7 years leading teams in private-equity or high-growth, multi-division companies.
  • • Demonstrated success scaling Total Rewards through revenue doubling, geographic expansion, and/or serial M&A (due-diligence, harmonization, integration).
  • • Expert command of U.S. federal and state rewards regulations (FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA) plus executive-comp governance (409A, 162(m)).
  • • Advanced Excel and data-visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau); hands-on experience with UKG Ultimate SaaS or similar HCM; familiarity with AI pay-equity tools (Syndio, Payscale, Gapsquare).
  • • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or Accounting required; Master’s or MBA preferred; CCP, CEBS, or SHRM-SCP certification a plus.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Remote-first flexibility with quarterly “culture collides” in vibrant Colibri hubs—travel covered, dog-friendly offices, and curated learning lunches.
  • • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision for employees; 75% for dependents; zero-deductible telehealth and mental-health sessions from day one.
  • • Annual $3,000 professional-development wallet: certifications, conferences, micro-MBA, or tuition—plus one paid week to study and sit for exams.
  • • 401(k) with 6% dollar-for-dollar match, immediate vesting, and optional after-tax mega-backdoor Roth; quarterly financial-planning webinars.
  • • 20 days PTO to start, 10 paid holidays, 2 floating “me days,” and a one-month paid sabbatical every five years—because thriving careers need pauses.
