- • Join Cadence Design Systems, Inc. as a Distributed Systems Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electronic design automation (EDA). We are at the forefront of building a next-generation distributed transistor-level electromigration and IR drop analysis tool, a critical component for modern chip design. Our team boasts deep expertise in numerical solvers and sophisticated circuit simulation algorithms, and we are seeking a highly motivated distributed systems engineer to architect and implement the scalable data processing infrastructure required to handle massive circuit designs across distributed computing resources.
- • In this dynamic role, you will contribute directly to the core distributed infrastructure of a cutting-edge Python-based platform. This platform is designed to orchestrate high-performance C++ solvers, enabling complex analyses on an unprecedented scale. Your work will span several key areas, ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and scalability of our system.
- • You will be instrumental in developing the Data Pipeline & I/O Management components. This involves building robust ingestion pipelines capable of handling large-scale netlists and intricate simulation data. A significant part of your responsibility will be to implement high-performance I/O operations for multi-terabyte circuit databases, ensuring rapid access and processing. Furthermore, you will develop sophisticated serialization/deserialization layers that seamlessly bridge our Python front-end with our high-performance C++ computational back-end. You will also design and implement streaming interfaces to efficiently manage and process results from distributed solvers, ensuring data flows smoothly and reliably.
- • Another critical area of focus will be Job Orchestration & Workflow management. You will implement advanced task distribution mechanisms, incorporating fault-tolerant scheduling for long-running, computationally intensive simulations. This includes developing sophisticated resource management systems and intelligent load balancing strategies to optimize the utilization of our compute clusters. Building comprehensive monitoring and observability tools for these distributed workflows will be essential for maintaining system health and performance. You will also be tasked with optimizing task granularity and dependency management to maximize throughput and minimize latency.
- • Additionally, you will contribute to the Visualization & Analytics aspects of the platform. This involves developing scalable visualization techniques for multi-dimensional, terabyte-scale simulation results, enabling engineers to intuitively understand complex data. You will implement interactive data exploration capabilities, leveraging optimization techniques such as downsampling, Level of Detail (LOD), and progressive rendering to ensure responsiveness even with massive datasets.
