- • As the Lead Actuary of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) at Nexus Specialty Casualty, you will be instrumental in shaping and driving the strategic growth of our ART business within the USA.
- • This pivotal role involves overseeing all actuarial aspects of structured ART business, fostering strong relationships with the firm’s Natural Catastrophe (NatCat) modelers, and collaborating closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and the underwriting team to achieve optimal outcomes for both the company and our valued clients.
- • You will be responsible for supporting the pricing of individual accounts, working hand-in-glove with the ART underwriting team to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- • A key part of your role will be to ensure the design, maintenance, and consistent application of pricing tools, adhering strictly to established actuarial methodologies and best practices.
- • You will be expected to thoroughly understand and integrate the specific timelines, targets, approaches, benchmarks, guidance, and assumptions of our carrier partners into your actuarial analyses.
- • A significant responsibility will be to work closely with the CAT Modeling Team, gaining a deep understanding of their methodologies, identifying data requirements, validating assumptions, and interpreting the drivers of their output.
- • You will be tasked with prioritizing and leading various actuarial projects, adeptly balancing both planned, strategic initiatives and urgent, unplanned requests to meet business needs.
- • This role requires extensive collaboration with the CUO, ART underwriters, Catastrophe Analysts, and legal counsel on new business opportunities, functioning as an integral part of a cohesive team.
- • You will contribute to the enhancement and development of pricing tools across the entire Specialty Casualty Division, aiming for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- • A forward-thinking approach will be essential as you enhance our methodologies for predictive analytics, directly impacting pricing strategies and risk assessment.
- • You will champion and embody a client-centric culture and behavior, extending this ethos beyond the actuarial function to influence the broader organization.
- • Furthermore, you will provide critical support for portfolio management, including the generation of insightful reports and the negotiation of binders and reinsurance agreements, ensuring appropriate accounting for all ART products.
