📋 Description

• As a Documentation Engineer (Builder Experiences) at Parity Technologies Limited, you will own and evolve the developer-facing documentation for Polkadot, the foundational blockchain infrastructure powering decentralized applications. Your work directly impacts thousands of developers worldwide who rely on accurate, up-to-date documentation to build smart contracts, launch parachains, and interact with the network—making this role critical to the growth and usability of the Polkadot ecosystem.
• You will engineer documentation as a first-class software product by building automation pipelines, designing intuitive developer journeys, and maintaining a docs-as-code system with CI/CD validation. This includes owning the full documentation portfolio—reference guides, tutorials, code snippets, and examples—while leveraging AI to reduce lag between code changes and documentation updates, ensuring consistency, correctness, and accessibility at scale.
• You will collaborate closely with protocol and SDK engineers to document features as they ship, translating complex technical changes into clear, actionable guidance for both internal and external builders. Your role bridges engineering and developer experience, turning raw code into usable knowledge through thoughtful structure, real-user testing, and continuous feedback loops.
• Parity’s Builder Experiences team operates within the Acceleration department, driving ecosystem growth by enabling developers to succeed on Polkadot. As a remote-first, global organization rooted in open-source values, the team fosters innovation through collaboration, transparency, and a shared mission to make Web3 more accessible, secure, and trustworthy.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in technical documentation engineering, AI-augmented workflows, and developer advocacy. You’ll gain hands-on experience shaping the documentation strategy for a leading blockchain platform, influencing how developers learn, build, and innovate—while working alongside some of the most talented engineers in the Web3 space.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a software engineer with strong code fluency—ability to write, test, and maintain code in languages such as Rust, JavaScript, or Python to build documentation tools and automation.
• Hands-on experience with docs-as-code practices, including static site generators (e.g., Docusaurus, MkDocs, Hugo), CI/CD pipelines for documentation, and automated validation of links, code snippets, and formatting.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI into technical workflows—not just prompt engineering, but embedding LLMs or AI agents into documentation processes for tasks like example generation, consistency checking, or content summarization.
• Evidence-based approach to developer empathy: experience conducting user testing, analyzing documentation usage metrics, and iterating on content based on real developer feedback and behavior.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working closely with engineering teams to document features in sync with release cycles.
