This remote, part-time position is crucial to advancing InterVarsity's mission by ensuring exceptional daily interactions, timely and accurate donor service, and extending invitations for deeper partnership.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the day-to-day success of the Donor Services Team, cultivating a positive and supportive team environment that reflects love for one another, ministry partners, and donors. You will be a key representative of the InterVarsity brand, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive and lasting impression.
- • You will be the first point of contact for many, responding promptly and courteously to inquiries from ministry partners and staff via phone, email, online chat, text, and traditional mail. Your ability to provide excellent service and resolve issues efficiently will be paramount.
- • A core function of this role involves partnering closely with the Financial Services Team to process and receipt all donations accurately and within established time standards. This includes handling a variety of donation types, such as special gifts, corporate matching gifts, memorials, final gifts, anonymous gifts, foundation gifts, and IRA gifts, ensuring all are logged and acknowledged appropriately.
- • You will conduct internal research to address donor questions, following established protocols to provide accurate and helpful information. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate internal systems effectively.
- • Processing online donations and managing related communications is a significant part of the role. This includes handling updates, changes, stops, and enhancements to donor accounts, as well as managing the online chat function, emails, texts, and phone calls to ensure a seamless donor experience.
- • You will be responsible for preparing and sending welcome kits to all new donors, a vital step in integrating them into the InterVarsity community and expressing gratitude for their support.
- • Daily processing of InterVarsity’s paper and electronic receipts, both for daily transactions and fiscal year-end reporting, will be a key duty. Accuracy and adherence to deadlines are critical in this area.
- • You will proactively identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiencies within our systems, including Salesforce, Workday, and our online donation platform. This role encourages innovation and a continuous improvement mindset.
- • Becoming an active learner in new processes is essential, as you will help establish new types of giving or methods in partnership with the Financial Services Team, staying at the forefront of donation management.
- • Tracking, coding, and logging all donor correspondence within Salesforce is a fundamental task, ensuring our donor database is up-to-date and comprehensive.
- • You will manage and complete assigned projects through the Service Cloud ticketing system, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills.
- • A significant responsibility includes participating in the annual reorganization and restructuring of field ministry accounts at the beginning of each new fiscal year, requiring meticulous attention to detail and planning.
- • You will contribute to the creation of reports detailing all aspects of the Donor Services Team's activities, providing valuable insights for better decision-making and process improvement.
- • A unique aspect of this role involves learning and actively participating in the processes of asking for support, stewardship thanking, and reporting back to ministry partners, deepening your understanding of the development cycle.
- • Adherence to best practices, procedures, and all relevant international, federal, and state laws related to donations, data privacy, and record-keeping is non-negotiable.
- • Ensuring the accurate maintenance of donor names and contact information within Salesforce is crucial for effective communication and relationship building.
- • You will actively participate in database cleanliness projects, including managing and merging records and other assigned database maintenance tasks, ensuring the integrity of our donor information.
- • As needed, you will respond to tier 2 level customer service tickets related to InterVarsity staff, providing support and resolving issues efficiently.
- • You will be available to ministry partners during established business hours, offering consistent support via phone, email, chat, or text.
- • Cross-training in gift processing procedures and providing backup support to the team as needed will be part of your responsibilities, fostering a collaborative and resilient team environment.
- • You will manage occasional expenses related to your role, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to financial policies.
- • Establishing GAU (General Account Unit) as needed within Salesforce and partnering with the Financial Services Team to set up equivalent expense/cost center accounts in Workday, along with ensuring staff portal access, are important administrative duties.
- • You will also be responsible for developing and communicating with a list of potential financial and prayer ministry partners on a regular basis, and for raising an agreed-upon amount of financial support, a minimum of 10% of your personal support goal.
- • This role requires you to be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ, growing in your love for God, His Word, His people, and His purposes in the world. You will be encouraged to be a lifelong learner, particularly in areas of program management, process improvement, and ministry business practices, and to participate actively in the spiritual life of the National Service Center (NSC), including Commons and prayer meetings.
