📋 Description

• Partner closely with senior leaders as a trusted advisor to shape and scale the People Operations function, ensuring it supports Laminar Projects’ global growth while preserving its human-centric culture.
• Own and continuously improve core People Operations processes including employee lifecycle management, global compensation and benefits, policy frameworks, compliance, and UK and international visa and immigration procedures.
• Design, implement, and optimize HR systems and tools (HRIS, reporting, workflows) to drive efficiency, automation, and data-driven decision-making across a rapidly scaling organization.
• Develop meaningful people analytics, KPIs, and reports that inform leadership decisions and enable proactive workforce planning for a distributed, global team.
• Create scalable, repeatable best practices, templates, and operating models to support a growing organization without sacrificing operational excellence or human connection.
• Lead and evolve performance review and development processes to ensure clear expectations, meaningful feedback, and strong performance management as the company scales.
• Manage UK employment compliance frameworks and immigration sponsorship obligations, including Skilled Worker visa administration and related legal obligations.
• Partner with external providers and internal stakeholders to deliver compliant, efficient, and employee-centric global mobility solutions, including relocations and cross-border employment models.
• Advise on complex employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and terminations with sound judgment and strict compliance awareness.
• Build and nurture a high-performing, trusted People Operations function by developing team capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
• Operate with urgency and ownership to anticipate future people challenges and design proactive solutions that align with Laminar’s vision of human flourishing and organizational scalability.
• Contribute to shaping the company’s culture by embedding core values—grow yourself, care about people, execute to greatness, and build civilisation—into operational practices and leadership behaviors.
• Maintain a deep understanding of UK employment law and ensure all People Operations activities are legally compliant and ethically grounded.
• Support the global expansion of Laminar Projects by designing systems that enable seamless hiring, onboarding, and retention of talent across international markets.
• Act as a strategic operator who balances high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, moving fluidly between advisor, leader, and doer roles.
• Drive transparency and equity in compensation by benchmarking market data and designing pay frameworks that ensure internal fairness and external competitiveness.
• Champion a meritocratic, feedback-rich culture where candid input is valued and personal development is prioritized over hierarchy.
• Contribute to Laminar’s mission of fully digitising construction project delivery by ensuring the People Operations function enables the team to deliver on this ambitious societal goal.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise in core HR disciplines with strong grounding in UK employment law, policies, and compliance
• Practical experience owning UK employment compliance frameworks and immigration sponsorship obligations (e.g., Skilled Worker licence management)
• Experience operating in scaling organisations (e.g., 20→300+ employees)
• Solid experience in compensation strategy and benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity
• Proven experience leading and advising on complex employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, PIPs, and terminations
• Experience designing and implementing HR systems and tools to drive automation and data-driven decision-making
