- • Troubleshoot server and network hardware including fibreoptic cables, optics, and hardware components in production environments.
- • Manage the full lifecycle of circuit move, add, change, and disconnection orders (MACDs) across internal teams and external vendors.
- • Directly execute or coordinate local vendor technicians for physical installation, maintenance, and fault resolution of servers and network circuits.
- • Perform physical layer installation of server and network cabling in accordance with approved cabling matrices and site specifications.
- • Conduct physical troubleshooting and fault analysis of circuits and hardware to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- • Provide ongoing operational support for production infrastructure, coordinating with vendors, system owners, and cross-functional operations teams to resolve incidents.
- • Track and report on all service requests and maintenance activities through ticketing systems (JIRA), providing weekly status updates.
- • Maintain accurate documentation for all implementations, including post-installation records and technical procedures.
- • Participate in on-call rotation for ad-hoc troubleshooting between internal teams and external providers across multiple time zones.
- • Assist with regional maintenance activities during business hours as required.
- • Develop and execute strategies to improve inventory accuracy for circuits and spares, including setting threshold-based reorder triggers.
- • Raise Site and Vendor Remote Hands requests to perform physical audits and maintenance tasks at data centre locations.
- • Update CDP and internal documentation upon request, ensuring all technical records remain current and compliant.
- • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM), equipment vendors, and data centres to manage delivery schedules and time windows for hardware shipments.
- • Serve as initial point of contact for vendor queries related to interconnection issues and circuit troubleshooting.
- • Create and track colocation inbound/outbound shipments and ensure timely delivery of equipment.
- • Maintain up-to-date internal documentation for all Internet Service Provider contacts and circuit details.
- • Schedule onsite technicians and manage site access requests for scheduled and ad-hoc physical works.
- • Conduct regular audits of server inventory, circuit configurations, and spare parts stock levels across multiple sites.
- • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- • Demonstrate basic command-line proficiency in Linux/Unix and switch operating system CLIs for diagnostic tasks.
- • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.
🎯 Requirements
- • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent
- • Minimum 2 years’ experience in data centre or corporate/enterprise IT infrastructure operations
- • Experience executing detailed MOPs and following technical documentation
- • Knowledge of fibre optics, network interface types, form factors, and protocols
- • Experience coordinating with field technicians, contractors, and vendors (Telecom ISP, Colo Providers)
- • Strong troubleshooting skills across technical, logistical, and process domains
