- • The EDI/Data Sr. Specialist at Brown & Brown Insurance plays a critical role in the National Employee Benefits Technology (EBTech) Department by ensuring accurate data handling, EDI configuration, and software implementation for customer-facing benefits platforms, directly supporting healthcare reform compliance and automated enrollment processes.
- • This role is essential to maintaining data integrity and system reliability, enabling customers to efficiently manage employee benefits while upholding Brown & Brown’s commitment to customer-centric service and operational excellence.
- • Audit and upload data for moderately to complex new customer website implementations or ongoing maintenance for existing customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- • Create, configure, and maintain EDI files using third-party software (particularly Bswift modules) for customer websites, adhering to established SOPs and best practices for data mapping and transmission.
- • Conduct final testing and auditing of EDI configurations — both self-performed and by Analysts and Senior Analysts — to validate functionality of low to moderate complexity implementations, providing oversight and corrective feedback as needed.
- • Contribute to the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by identifying process enhancements and recommending updates based on platform alignment and field experience.
- • Build and sustain strong, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and carriers to improve retention, resolve issues promptly, and serve as a trusted point of contact.
- • Provide daily direct and indirect support to assigned customers through teammate development, troubleshooting, and guidance on EDI/data-related inquiries.
- • Maintain current knowledge of health and benefits products, services, and tools to ensure accurate configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of software implementations.
- • Foster a collaborative team environment by promoting knowledge sharing, mentorship, and a positive attitude, including training and guiding EDI/Data Analysts and Senior Analysts.
- • Uphold accountability for quality assurance on moderate complexity EDI/Data tasks, ensuring deliverables meet internal and external performance standards.
- • Anticipate and respond to customer support questions with minimal oversight, acting as a subject matter resource in customer meetings when required.
- • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on industry trends, legislation, new product releases, and technological advancements in benefits administration.
- • Pursue personal and professional growth through continued education, certification efforts (including Life and Health Insurance licensure), and skill enhancement initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Bswift, specifically in one or more of the following modules: Feedbuilder, Demographic Import Admin, or Payroll Builder.
- • 2–4 years of experience with employee data file manipulation and EDI file development, preferably in insurance, HR, or financial services environments.
- • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience working with PC-based database applications.
- • Strong attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- • Excellent telephone etiquette and professional problem-solving approach when interacting with customers and internal teams.
