- • The Edo Interpreter role at LanguageLine Solutions is a remote, independent contractor position that enables bilingual professionals to bridge language gaps for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors such as healthcare, emergency services, government, and business.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to interpreting sessions, accurately conveying meaning between Edo and English speakers without omissions or additions, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and handling high-stress or emotionally charged calls—including 911 emergencies—while adhering to strict interpretation protocols.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in both Edo and English, including understanding of cultural nuances and regional accent variations.
- • Strong listening, memory, and note-taking abilities to ensure high accuracy during interpretation.
- • Capacity to remain neutral, objective, and composed during emotionally intense or high-pressure calls, such as medical emergencies or legal proceedings.
- • Access to a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS desktop/laptop, iPadOS/Android tablet, or iOS/Android smartphone) and a reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, <300 ms ping, <30 ms jitter).
- • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience or education in teaching, translation, interpretation, or language assessment is preferred.
