- • Design and develop electrical systems for Kepler’s satellite payload, focusing on the communication interface that integrates Optical, Ku-band, and S-band protocols.
- • Lead the schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout for high-reliability space-grade electrical subsystems.
- • Collaborate with systems, thermal, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure electrical designs meet mission requirements for performance, power efficiency, and radiation tolerance.
- • Perform electrical simulations and analysis to validate signal integrity, power distribution, and electromagnetic compatibility under space environmental conditions.
- • Develop and review test plans and procedures for electrical subsystems, including functional, environmental, and acceptance testing.
- • Interface with suppliers and vendors to source qualified components compliant with space-grade standards (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD).
- • Document design decisions, test results, and configuration controls in accordance with aerospace quality and traceability standards.
- • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to ensure robustness and mission success.
- • Support integration and verification activities during satellite assembly, integration, and test phases.
- • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies in space-based communication systems and recommend innovations to enhance payload performance.
- • Work closely with software and firmware teams to ensure seamless hardware-software interoperability in the satellite’s communication router.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and documentation practices within the electrical engineering team.
- • Adhere to Kepler’s safety, quality, and compliance protocols throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.
- • Support the development of next-generation satellite architectures with scalable, modular electrical interfaces.
- • Engage in cross-functional problem-solving to resolve technical challenges during prototyping, qualification, and in-orbit operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- • Proven experience designing electrical systems for space or high-reliability applications
- • Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools for space-grade electronics
- • Knowledge of communication protocols including Optical, Ku-band, and S-band
- • Familiarity with space standards such as ECSS or MIL-STD
- • Experience with component selection for radiation-tolerant and low-power space systems
