Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Stanley Consultants’ Austin Energy team as an Electrical Engineer-In-Training 1 and immediately contribute to mission-critical projects that power military installations, university campuses, utility-scale generation plants, and industrial facilities across the nation. You will be immersed in real-world design challenges from day one, guided by senior engineers who are invested in your rapid professional growth.
  • • Design and model medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems using industry-leading software such as ETAP or SKM, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with the latest codes and standards. Your calculations and single-line diagrams will directly influence the performance of multi-million-dollar infrastructure.
  • • Specify and lay out switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying schemes, and grounding networks that safeguard personnel and equipment. You will translate conceptual requirements into detailed construction-ready drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
  • • Develop lighting, convenience power, and lightning-protection designs for complex facilities, balancing energy efficiency, maintainability, and architectural aesthetics. Field-verify existing conditions, troubleshoot installations, and refine designs based on site observations.
  • • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, equipment specifications, and code-compliance documentation for clients ranging from the U.S. Department of Defense to major research universities. Your clear, concise writing will facilitate approvals and streamline procurement.
  • • Collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams—mechanical, civil, structural, and environmental engineers—to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall facility designs. You will participate in design reviews, value-engineering sessions, and client presentations.
  • • Manage portions of project budgets and schedules under the mentorship of senior staff, learning to balance scope, quality, and cost while meeting aggressive deadlines. Exposure to earned-value tracking and risk management will accelerate your transition to project engineer.
  • • Conduct site visits across Texas and neighboring states to gather data, witness factory acceptance tests, and support construction-phase services. Travel averages 10–15 %, offering hands-on insight into how designs translate into operating assets.
  • • Leverage Stanley’s 100+ year legacy in energy and federal markets to build a network of mentors, technical specialists, and future clients. Your contributions will be visible in facilities that serve national defense, higher education, and public power.
  • • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives—automating calculation templates, refining CAD standards, and piloting new technologies such as arc-flash studies and digital twins. Your innovations will be adopted firm-wide, amplifying your impact.
  • • Participate in internal training modules, lunch-and-learns, and professional society events to stay current with evolving codes (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA) and emerging technologies (microgrids, energy storage, EV charging). Tuition assistance is available for advanced degrees and certifications.
  • • Enjoy a culture that celebrates ownership: as an employee-owner you will receive annual stock grants and profit-sharing contributions, directly linking your performance to the firm’s success. Your ideas shape not only projects but the company itself.
