- • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing operating system upgrades, installing and configuring software packages, applying patches and fixes (PTFs), conducting root-cause analysis, creating incident reports, troubleshooting complex system issues, managing iTera and Mimix environments, executing save/restore operations, supporting customer migrations, coordinating with account management and pre-sales teams, liaising between Engineering and Operations, providing on-the-job training to junior staff, and participating in on-call rotations with approximately 10% travel for on-site customer support.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of IT experience, OR 7 years total IT engineering experience including 3 years troubleshooting and maintaining IBM i operating system environments
- • Expert-level experience with Mimix, including installations, upgrades, configuration, management, troubleshooting, and role swap/switch processing
- • Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP concepts (routing, FTP, NAT, DNS) and experience with Hardware Management Console (HMC), logical partitioning, Virtual I/O Server (VIOS), and Backup, Recovery, and Media Services (BRMS)
