Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Engineering Director role focused on building and scaling a high-performing data platform team at Precision Medicine Group, responsible for consolidating legacy data infrastructure and enabling AI/ML capabilities across the organization.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning engineering operations (sprint delivery, technical quality, capacity planning), driving technical excellence through architecture decisions and DevOps/GitOps practices, and serving as the primary escalation point for technical blockers and cross-team dependencies.
- • The team is part of Precision AQ’s Data Hub initiative, which has executive sponsorship, a clear roadmap, and a mandate to create a governed, scalable data platform serving multiple business units and product lines.
- • The role offers the opportunity to shape a function from strategy to execution, lead a team of data, analytics, and platform engineers, and grow engineering craft through hands-on leadership in a regulated, innovation-driven environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5/8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering roles
- • 3+ years leading engineering teams with accountability for hiring, performance management, and delivery
- • Direct experience with modern data stack including cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred), transformation frameworks, and orchestration tools
- • Track record of delivering complex data platform initiatives such as migrations, consolidations, or greenfield builds
- • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments
- • Ability to review code, debug production issues, and make sound architectural judgments
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote position based in the United Kingdom or the Netherlands
- • Opportunity to build and scale an engineering team from the ground up with executive sponsorship and clear mandate
- • Exposure to cutting-edge data platform technologies and AI/ML enablement across business units
- • Leadership role with strategic influence, including partnership with SVP on hiring, vendor relationships, and planning
- • Focus on engineering excellence, sustainable team health, and shaping a function rather than just managing it
