📋 Description

• Engineering Manager at SearchApi Inc. responsible for owning end-to-end delivery, enabling the founder to focus on strategic direction by managing day-to-day operations, project tracking, risk surfacing, and incident response.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include running lightweight cadences (planning, standups, retros), tracking all active projects, owning delivery metrics (cycle time, review latency, reliability), commanding incidents with blameless post-mortems, and growing the team through 1:1s, coaching, and high-bar hiring.
• SearchApi Inc. is a lean, profitable, bootstrapped SaaS company providing real-time SERP API data from 100+ search engines and sources to Fortune 500 companies, AI startups, and developers, with no VC pressure and a focus on shipping real products.
• The role offers the opportunity to design and own shipping processes, work closely with the founder, implement meaningful lightweight processes, hire and grow high-trust engineers, and learn from a founder-led profitable business while contributing to scalable search data infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience shipping delivery improvements with before-and-after examples
• Technical proficiency to read plans, PRs, and earn engineering team respect
• Experience managing a small, high-output engineering team
• Incident command experience with blameless RCA coordination
• Track record of hiring at a high bar using job descriptions, scorecards, and screens
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong written communication for clear decision-making
