- • Elicit is growing and needs an Engineering Manager to help scale the team without sacrificing speed, technical excellence, and ownership.
- • This role is more of a coach than a player, focusing on building and motivating a high-performing team rather than individual contributions in code.
- • The Engineering Manager will own the execution of a significant portion of Elicit’s roadmap, balance shipping quickly against building systems that remain maintainable as Elicit grows, and remove execution bottlenecks.
- • They will also participate in architectural discussions, review code, and provide thoughtful technical feedback.
- • The role requires strong computer science fundamentals, technical depth, and experience shipping complex, user-facing products with measurable business impact.
- • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, 3+ years of direct management experience, and a track record of helping engineers grow through coaching, mentorship, and clear feedback.
- • They will also have strong communication skills, an ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and design, and a profound curiosity about language models, AI, and building products that improve reasoning and decision-making.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- • 3+ years of direct management experience.
- • Experience leading engineering teams at high-bar startups.
- • Strong computer science fundamentals and technical depth.
- • Experience shipping complex, user-facing products with measurable business impact.
