- • Nelly.com Sverige AB is at the forefront of revolutionizing the healthcare industry through cutting-edge AI technology. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of our AI product engineering teams, based remotely. Our mission is to build the largest AI-enabled fintech for healthcare, transforming the administrative burden faced by medical practices into streamlined, automated workflows. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a newly launched team with ambitious growth plans, focusing on developing and deploying innovative AI-based products that empower medical professionals and enhance patient care.
- • As an Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing a high-performing team of 3-6 software and AI engineers. Your leadership will extend to defining the team's roadmap and strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of AI products. You will collaborate closely with a Product Manager to iteratively develop, launch, and continuously improve new features and solutions, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of medical practices.
- • A core responsibility will be owning the hiring process for your team, meticulously building a group of exceptional engineers who are passionate about AI and its application in healthcare. You will ensure your team remains at the vanguard of Large Language Model (LLM) and AI engineering, actively exploring and integrating new technologies as they emerge. This includes staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and development and translating them into practical, impactful solutions for our users.
- • You will also be accountable for the quality, reliability, and security of the products your team develops. This involves ensuring high availability of production systems and implementing robust testing and deployment strategies. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a hands-on approach, actively contributing to development alongside your team, which fosters a collaborative environment and deepens your understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities.
- • Beyond your team's direct contributions, you will play a vital role in Nelly's broader engineering initiatives as a member of the engineering leadership team. This involves contributing to strategic decisions, sharing best practices, and collaborating with other leaders to drive engineering excellence across the organization. Your insights and experience will be crucial in shaping the future of our technology and our engineering culture.
- • Our vision at Nelly is to empower over a million medical practices across Europe, significantly improving the lives of millions of patients by reducing administrative overhead and allowing healthcare professionals to focus on what matters most: patient care. We are backed by €50M in Series B funding from world-class investors, enabling us to scale rapidly and achieve this ambitious goal. We are building technology that simplifies complex processes, from patient journeys and billing to next-generation payments, all powered by AI and designed for the human element of healthcare.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation with proven experience in building AI products. Familiarity with TypeScript or Python ecosystems is essential, coupled with a proactive attitude towards learning both. Experience in cloud-native development and a deep understanding of designing, building, and owning customer-facing production back-end systems are critical. You should have a comprehensive grasp of software engineering processes and team management principles, combined with exceptional empathy and communication skills. While proficiency in English is required, knowledge of German is considered a valuable asset.
- • We are building a company culture that values collaboration, curiosity, and kindness. We believe in fostering an environment free from egos and drama, where talented individuals can thrive and contribute to a meaningful mission. If you are driven by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in healthcare through technology and are looking for a collaborative and supportive work environment, we encourage you to apply. We celebrate diversity and welcome applicants of all genders (m f d). Even if you don't meet every single criterion, if you believe you are exceptional and can articulate why, we would be genuinely interested in hearing from you.
