📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on improving developer experience, platform reliability, and AI-augmented software delivery across Abridge’s platform organization.
• Own the end-to-end developer journey—from local development to deployment and observability—by evolving tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure to reduce friction and increase velocity.
• Drive measurable improvements in developer productivity using metrics such as build times, deployment frequency, onboarding duration, and DORA indicators.
• Partner with senior leadership to scope, prioritize, and execute platform initiatives that enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery in a high-growth healthcare AI environment.
• Evaluate, adopt, and integrate AI-powered development tools (e.g., code generation, debugging, testing assistants) into engineering workflows to enhance code quality and accelerate delivery.
• Serve as a technical operator by participating in architecture discussions, reviewing system designs, and guiding teams through complex infrastructure challenges, even without daily coding.
• Build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or similar platforms using containerization, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Istio, Atmos).
• Collaborate closely with security, product engineering, and operations teams to embed reliability, compliance, and auditability into the development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers, support career growth, and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and developer empathy—treating internal teams as customers.
• Contribute to hiring efforts by identifying top talent, maintaining a high bar, and refining recruitment processes to scale the platform engineering team effectively.
• Establish and improve operational practices including sprint planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and incident response in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the engineering organization, ensuring tools are meaningfully integrated and deliver tangible productivity gains.
• Maintain high standards for security, reliability, and quality while reducing cognitive load for engineers through intuitive tooling and streamlined workflows.
• Act as a force multiplier by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in the software delivery lifecycle, enabling engineers to focus on high-impact product work.
• Align platform strategy with Abridge’s mission to improve healthcare through responsible, auditable AI that maps clinical summaries to ground truth.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience in rapidly growing organizations
• Experience leading teams that build and evolve developer platforms, CI/CD systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Proven track record of improving developer productivity using metrics like DORA, build times, and onboarding duration
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or similar public cloud environments and containerized systems (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Istio)
• Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance developer workflows, code quality, or operational efficiency
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and product teams
