📋 Description
- • Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers responsible for deploying Cohere’s North platform into customer environments.
- • Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operational stability.
- • Take full ownership of customer success from initial technical implementation through final delivery and handoff.
- • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to shape enterprise AI delivery workflows and customer-facing technical strategies.
- • Mentor team members on cloud infrastructure best practices, Kubernetes orchestration, and enterprise-grade deployment methodologies.
- • Optimize performance of critical services including OpenSearch, databases, and other Kubernetes-based workloads in customer environments.
- • Define and document scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources to meet varying enterprise workloads and performance requirements.
- • Build scalable processes, tooling, and automation to support rapid growth and consistent deployment quality across diverse customer infrastructures.
- • Act as a technical leader who actively contributes to hands-on deployment tasks while managing team priorities and delivery timelines.
- • Serve as a bridge between technical implementation and customer needs, translating enterprise requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
- • Ensure deployments meet enterprise security, compliance, and reliability standards across heterogeneous cloud and on-prem environments.
- • Continuously improve deployment efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, reducing time-to-value, and enhancing system resilience.
- • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning within the Forward Deployed Engineering team.
- • Represent Cohere’s technical capabilities during customer engagements, providing clarity on system architecture, limitations, and best practices.
- • Work remotely across North America with occasional travel to customer sites or company offices as needed.
- • Contribute to the evolution of deployment tooling and documentation to standardize practices across global customer deployments.
- • Maintain close alignment with infrastructure and platform engineering teams to ensure compatibility and timely resolution of deployment blockers.
- • Proactively identify risks in customer environments and implement mitigation strategies before they impact delivery timelines.
- • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical customer deployments when required.
- • Advocate for customer feedback within product and engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities and platform improvements.
