- • As Engineering Tech Lead, AI at Deel, you will play a critical role in shipping features faster while maintaining quality and reliability by leveraging AI tools like Claude to accelerate development workflows without sacrificing engineering excellence.
- • You will work closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, Designers, and QA professionals to understand requirements, scope features, and deliver seamless end-to-end experiences from design through deployment and monitoring.
- • You will be responsible for technical decisions that ensure efficiency and alignment with company-wide standards, using AI as a co-pilot while maintaining rigorous code review, testing, and security practices.
- • You will build and ship AI-powered products, features, and agents, contributing to Deel’s mission of enabling global work through scalable, production-grade backend solutions used by teams in 150+ countries.
- • You will collaborate across the full software development lifecycle, unblock teams by resolving blockers quickly, and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- • You will take personal ownership of service excellence, ensuring cost efficiency, system reliability, and continuous improvement in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.
- • You will join a globally distributed team of 7,000+ across 100+ countries, working at a company recognized as the fastest-growing SaaS in history with $17.3B valuation and $1B ARR, driving impact that affects millions of workers worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 10 years of experience as a Backend/Software Engineer with proven experience shipping real AI products and features in production.
- • At least 2 years of experience in a Tech Lead or senior leadership role.
- • Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python, including writing clean, maintainable code and deep understanding of software design patterns and best practices.
- • Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and ORM tools like Sequelize or TypeORM, including schema design and query optimization.
- • Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools like Claude effectively—prompting, reviewing AI-generated code critically, and knowing when to use AI versus manual coding.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote and asynchronous environments, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
