  • • You will own the full sales cycle for complex enterprise deals, from initial prospecting and relationship-building with C-level executives to negotiation, closing, and post-sale coordination, ensuring alignment with customer needs and long-term satisfaction while consistently meeting or exceeding aggressive revenue targets in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • • Your day-to-day will include researching and identifying high-potential target accounts, crafting and executing tailored sales strategies, delivering customized product demonstrations and presentations that address specific business pain points, and maintaining rigorous CRM hygiene with accurate forecasting and activity tracking in Salesforce.
  • • You will continuously monitor market trends, competitor movements, and evolving customer needs to position Kong’s solutions effectively, while contributing to account expansion initiatives by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing client bases.
  • • Success in this role requires resilience, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive autonomously in a remote setting while staying deeply connected to cross-functional teams and company goals, all while embodying Kong’s values of innovation, customer obsession, and technical excellence.
  • • Over time, you will have the opportunity to shape your territory’s growth trajectory, mentor peers through shared best practices, and advance into broader leadership roles as Kong scales its enterprise footprint across the Central USA region and beyond.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of experience in enterprise sales targeting organizations with over 1,000 employees, with a proven track record of closing complex deals in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environments.
  • • Demonstrated success selling to large enterprises, particularly engaging senior-level executives and influencing decisions across multiple departments.
  • • Strong consultative selling abilities, including the capacity to uncover customer needs, align technical solutions to business outcomes, and deliver compelling, customized presentations and demonstrations.
  • • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling effective management of high-stakes conversations and the cultivation of long-term, trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders and key decision-makers.
  • • Results-driven mindset with a history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and revenue targets in competitive, dynamic markets.
  • • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, including accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and detailed tracking of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • • Familiarity with open-source software, APIs, or infrastructure software is highly advantageous and preferred.
  • • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, taking full ownership of your sales territory and adapting swiftly to shifting market conditions and internal priorities.
  • • Analytical and strategic thinking, with a proven ability to identify growth opportunities, develop account plans, and execute strategies to win new business and expand existing accounts.
