- • OU Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Data Architect to spearhead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our transformative Enterprise Data Platform and Information Architecture Framework. This pivotal role is instrumental in shaping the future of data management and analytics within our organization, ensuring that we can leverage our vast datasets to drive improved patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and foster groundbreaking research.
- • As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will be at the forefront of building a new, companywide data solution from the ground up. This involves defining and establishing robust architecture, comprehensive processes, and stringent governance protocols to meticulously secure and manage data throughout its entire lifecycle. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our data infrastructure is not only compliant with evolving healthcare regulations and privacy laws but also agile and adaptable to the dynamic technological landscape.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves close collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinical leaders, research teams, administrative executives, external vendors, and strategic partners. You will act as a key liaison, translating complex data needs into tangible architectural blueprints and ensuring that the resulting analytics platform is scalable, secure, and future-ready, capable of meeting the multifaceted data requirements across OU Health.
- • You will be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated, scalable, secure, and interoperable data systems. This includes designing and overseeing the construction of data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time processing platforms, all meticulously tailored to support OU Health’s enterprise data analytics objectives. Your architectural vision will ensure that these systems are robust and capable of handling the complexities of healthcare data.
- • A core responsibility is to define and maintain comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models. These models will serve as the foundation for standardizing data across our clinical, research, and operational systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Crucially, you will ensure these models are designed to specifically support the unique and stringent requirements of healthcare data, encompassing clinical information, claims data, provider details, member information, and more.
- • You will design, implement, and oversee the data integration processes, including ETL/ELT pipelines, to facilitate seamless and efficient data flow between OU Health's internal systems and any necessary external entities. This ensures that data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis.
- • Engaging directly with clinical, research, and administrative stakeholders is paramount. You will be tasked with gathering detailed requirements, understanding their unique challenges, and delivering data solutions that precisely meet their departmental needs. Facilitating clear, effective communication and fostering strong collaborative relationships among all parties will be key to success.
- • Continuous monitoring and optimization of database performance are essential. You will proactively troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and integrate new, cutting-edge technologies to support the ever-evolving demands of healthcare analytics, ensuring our systems remain at the peak of efficiency.
- • Implementing and maintaining robust security measures and backup procedures is non-negotiable. Your focus will be on protecting sensitive patient information, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant privacy laws and regulations, and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our data assets.
- • You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining comprehensive system documentation, detailed data dictionaries, and clear architecture blueprints. Furthermore, you will provide essential training and guidance to team members, instilling best practices in data management, security, and governance across the organization.
- • Identifying strategic opportunities to enhance our data infrastructure, championing innovation, and enabling the adoption of advanced analytics techniques will be a key driver for improving patient outcomes and optimizing operational efficiency across OU Health.
- • You will act as a critical bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, adeptly translating complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights. Your ability to ensure that data architecture decisions are aligned with the priorities of clinicians, administrators, and compliance officers will be vital.
- • Promoting a culture of knowledge sharing is encouraged, through meticulous documentation of data models, standards, and best practices. You will also provide valuable training and mentorship to fellow team members, elevating the collective expertise in data management, security, and governance.
- • Leading collaborative efforts to troubleshoot complex data issues, optimize existing workflows, and successfully implement new technologies will be a regular part of your role. You will foster an environment of open communication and constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement in our data systems and processes.
- • You will actively participate in project planning and execution, ensuring that the data architecture seamlessly integrates with project goals, adheres to timelines, and respects resource constraints. Close coordination with project managers and fellow architects will be essential for delivering cohesive and integrated solutions.
