- • Serve as the technical sales lead throughout the pre-sales cycle, owning Proof of Value (POV) outcomes and co-leading customer relationships with Enterprise Account Executives.
- • Conduct in-person and remote product demonstrations to articulate the technical value of Abnormal Security’s email security platform.
- • Provide technical pre-sales support to assigned Enterprise Account Executives, enabling them to meet sales objectives and execute account-based penetration strategies.
- • Discover and uncover customer pain points, requirements, and business objectives to tailor technical solutions and business cases.
- • Create and deliver value-driven presentations using PowerPoint and Google Slides to communicate the strategic impact of Abnormal Security’s technology.
- • Conduct technical and competitive landscape research to effectively respond to customer questions and objections.
- • Act as a technical resource during pre-sales security and platform diligence processes, including answering technical inquiries from security and compliance teams.
- • Educate internal sales executives and external partners on Abnormal Security’s products, platform architecture, and email security capabilities.
- • Obsessively drive customer satisfaction by ensuring technical accuracy, responsiveness, and alignment with business outcomes.
- • Demonstrate deep understanding of modern email threats including business email compromise (BEC), adversary-in-the-middle phishing, and AI-based phishing attacks.
- • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for C-suite and technical stakeholders.
- • Work independently in a high-velocity sales environment while maintaining precision and customer focus.
- • Maintain strong knowledge of Internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, DNS) and networking topology including firewalls, routers, and TCP/IP configuration.
- • Apply foundational knowledge of M365 and Google Workspace built-in security controls to contextualize Abnormal Security’s platform advantages.
- • Influence technical and non-technical audiences through verbal and written communication in virtual and in-person settings.
- • Exhibit high emotional intelligence by reading the room, actively listening, empathizing, and adapting communication style to stakeholder needs.
- • Present the "Big Picture" by connecting technical capabilities to customer business challenges and strategic goals.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years industry experience in sales engineering
- • Technical background in messaging and Internet security principles
- • Strong understanding of Internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, DNS) and networking topology (firewalls, routers, TCP/IP)
- • Prior experience selling software to FTSE 500 companies
- • Knowledge of modern email threats such as business email compromise, adversary-in-the-middle phishing, and AI-based phishing
- • BSCS/BSEE or equivalent work experience
