Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the complete product lifecycle for Enterprise User Terminals (UTs) on the Telesat Lightspeed LEO constellation, from strategic concept through end-of-life, ensuring every release advances global enterprise broadband adoption and multi-million-dollar revenue targets.
- • Translate market intelligence, customer pain-points and competitive dynamics into a living 3-year product roadmap that balances technical feasibility, cost-to-serve and differentiated value for Fortune-500, maritime, aviation, government and energy verticals.
- • Author and maintain crystal-clear hardware and software requirement documents (PRDs, SRS, ICDs) that external antenna OEMs, modem suppliers and terminal integrators can execute against with minimal re-work, while aligning to Telesat system-level architecture and service-level agreements.
- • Run disciplined RFI/RFP cycles: scope technical and commercial criteria, score vendor responses, negotiate statements of work and own the down-select recommendation that balances performance, unit cost, certification timeline and strategic partnership value.
- • Serve as the single point of accountability for enterprise terminal portfolio P&L; monitor cost-of-goods, forecast demand across SKUs, set pricing guidance and rationalize end-of-life products to protect margin and inventory turns.
- • Embed with Enterprise customers during pre-sales pilots, gather real-world usage data, convert insights into backlog epics and champion the “voice of the customer” in sprint reviews, QBRs and executive steering committees.
- • Partner with Systems Engineering to define RF, baseband and network interface specifications that guarantee seamless interoperability between user terminals, LEO satellites, gateway stations and the terrestrial core network under dynamic link conditions.
- • Drive Agile ceremonies with cross-functional squads (hardware, software, QA, supply chain, regulatory) to deliver minimum viable terminals on aggressive timelines, remove blockers and maintain transparent risk registers that keep C-suite stakeholders informed.
- • Collaborate with the Commercial and Sales teams to craft go-to-market collateral, train channel partners and support high-stakes customer RFQs that can exceed $100 M in committed bandwidth revenue.
- • Establish and track KPIs—latency, availability, MTBF, NPS, attach rate, ARPU—that quantify terminal performance and market success, iterating the roadmap quarterly based on data-driven insights.
- • Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, Canadian Controlled Goods, FCC, CE and maritime/aviation certification regimes; interface with Legal and Regulatory Affairs to shepherd equipment authorizations and spectrum filings.
- • Mentor junior product managers and systems engineers on satellite communications fundamentals, phased-array antenna design trade-offs and modem waveform selection, raising the collective technical IQ of the organization.
- • Present product strategy, financial outlook and risk mitigation plans to the Board of Directors and external investors during quarterly business reviews and industry conferences.
- • Travel up to 25 % (domestic and international) to customer sites, vendor facilities, launch campaigns and industry forums, representing Telesat as the authoritative spokesperson for enterprise user terminal solutions.
